The ZC is seriously a construction zone at the moment. We walked around this afternoon and pretty much every monument is being rebuilt along with most of the roads. Have a look at Billini hotel it calls itself a 5 star and is good quality. You should get a very good rate at this time of year. I wouldn't pay $200 a night for Jaragua that's a lot for this time of year. B

Hi, just for educational purposes, I wound up paying the taxi $200 to get back to the ZC from Las Terrenas. Hotel was asking $250 for their cab driver. I used a taxi I had used earlier instead. I view the trip to Las Terrenas as worthwhile. I now am at a rather budget like hotel but it has all I need for now. I would like to find a gym that is walking distance from the main street in the ZC If anybody has a recommendation, I'm open to suggestions.
I took a walk in the ZC and within a few minutes I was getting quite a few propositions on the main walkway. One of the ladies appeared to be a young girl, maybe 15 years old, she was with a lady of maybe 25 years. I was a little concerned about getting pickpocketed but when they closed the distance, I made it difficult for them to reach my pockets and was ready to react quickly if I had to.
In any event, I am meeting what I would say is a very attractive lady tomorrow afternoon. She also works fulltime and seems well-educated so we shall see if there is potential for a mutual spark.
I may have pulled the plug a little soon on the first lady in Las Terrenas. She was very nice to me, especially the last day I was there after I mentioned I was going to hit the road.(Almost saw that sparkle in the eye I was hoping for).... I've left things on good terms with her so the bridge hasn't been burned.
I'm about to uber out of my hotel over the casino just for fun. I haven't asked here but I hope Uber is safe around these parts.

Just curious, was your trip to the DR to meet women? Or meeting with women you met online?
I rearranged my travel plans to meet the lady in Las Terrenas. Since that has fallen through, I'm open to meeting another lady. I don't care if it is through online contacts or in person.... but the thing is I have never been much for meeting ladies on the fly. I will say the taxi driver has put his sister in contact with me on the way over to Santo Domingo, I agreed to let him, but now that I've seen a photo of her, I can see she isn't my type. There may not be that many ladies that fit into my wheelhouse, and I in theirs...so that is ok too. Meanwhile I just want to relax, go to the gym, eat well, and just have a nice vacation.
Gimnasio Colonial is the only gym in the Conde, it's a local gym but it is reasonably well equipped and has A/C. It's upstairs in the section between Burger King and Pollo Rey (on the same side of the street as Pollo Rey).
Uber is safe, always check that the number plate of the vehicle is the same as shown on the app and you'll be fine.
And I don't understand why you paid more to come back than to go to LT, try not to let people rip you off here, you are a target being new in town and you need to stick to your price.
Thanks for the earlier advice regarding the hotels. I visited the Casino and took a look at the hotel. Almost $250 a night with taxes/fees and doesn't include breakfast This little hotel in ZC is very nice and 1/3 the price.
Regarding the taxi. I paid $170 from airport hotel to Las Terrenas I paid $200 from Las Terrenas to this little hotel which is quite a bit further than the airport hotel. It was a taxi I had picked up the day before when I scooting around Las Terrenas. I offered the $200 because compared to $250 the hotel was charging it seemed fair enough....but I'm sure you right. The Uber driver I just used to get to the casino said he would drive me back to Las Terrenas for $150...off of the Uber records, I'm sure.
The Casino wasn't very much although they did have a few table games. I played a little blackjack, got lucky and won $200. I'm going to try to resist going back because it is old hat

Hit the gym this morning $3.00 entry fee. So many mirrors, it is so disappointing to see how I look nowadays. Well anyway, the gym was very decent (I thought), enough machines to go around, and plenty of free weights. A couple nice looking ladies amongst the horde of men. AC made it a comfortable temperature.
Well I know this is veering off topic and I hope it is ok. I have developed a skin rash on my feet, lower legs and across the trunk of my body on one side. I went to a pharmacy, and they don't me they don't know what it is and to go to the hospital. I feel fine otherwise, no symptoms of anything serious. What a delight!

Go to the pharmacy and get some Trederma creme. If it is a mild bateria infection and rash that should take care of it.

I know this is turning into a soap opera, but something even worse happened last night. I was DRUGGED and robbed by a 37 year old lady I was on a date with. This morning, I went to the tourist police, and later today I guess I'm going to file a report. I was trying to make a deal with her so I didn't have to do this, but now she blocked me so I may have no choice. I have pictures of her and I together, very clear pictures. I have her phone number...that she uses for UBER...
I was barely able to escape but I recognized something wasn't right when my world started spinning. I have never been so messed up in my life.
I don't know how the Dominican Police are in these matters, but I do have quite a bit of info on her. Met her on Latin American Cupid. She was a very smooth operator, and I apparently am not as perceptive as I was hoping I would be in that type of situation.
