Yes, I'm still here. Started the Trip in Las Terrenas. It seems that is where the rash originally developed. Although based on this thread I'm a drama queen...normally I'm low key....so this is not the usual me.

I can believe that. The island and women will provide all the drama you didn’t ask for. It’s on you how you deal with that, so far so good. When you get an actual relationship it will be the next test lol
It looks like sand flea bites to me. Were you on the beach in the evening. Typically you won't even feel the bites.
Yes I was on the beach in the evening...and now that you mention it...the lady I was with in Las Terrenas noticed something was wrong and slapped at her foot and quickly shuttled the both of us off the beach. I asked her why because I didn't notice anything. She said something about tiny ants If I understood right. So whatever these 'sand fleas' are, they very well may be what got me good. Still don't get why I got bites on my upper body though, in specific areas along the trunk of my body mostly. It's a conundrum .

I just did some quick research on sand fleas.....So far this looks like the most likely candidate. My foot looks and other parts of the body rash look almost exactly like the photos.
I did everything wrong in Las Terrenas. It was dusk, I was barefoot on the sand. It had just rained (Which excites them I read). No deet repellent. Just a complete brain fart for me again.

Complete overkill but That part of the trip has worked out pretty good actually. The bumps are a little better so maybe by tomorrow I won't look something no lady would want to get close to!
Doubtful. I haven't bedded any ladies...the Las Terrenas lady was a very tidy woman. We just swam together, ate together, relaxed at the beach...things like that. I picked up over there though and I was on the beach barefooted at dusk after it rained. Seems more likely I got the beach fleas. The hotel bedding seemed clean at the hotel...although maybe not after I brought fleas in for the next person.
In summary so far: You travel from Cali, a dreadful trip btw, to meet a woman in Las Terrenas. You land at SDQ which requires $200 cab fare in a country that it seems you know very little about. The lady wasn't to your liking as most dating sites are scams to begin with requiring the members to write prose as if they were honey drops that fell from the sky into YOUR lap. (amazing bit of luck). The members of these sites also need to study the art of photo retouching or pay a professional photographer.
Apparently, you then get your body eaten alive by...who knows what? Right so far?
You get another cab ride to the big city. Now we're talking BIG BOY pants and game on. You meet another tidy woman, who has good hygiene and your luck is about to change. This woman is sure to make your vacation of one month an event you will never forget.In fact, she will make it so that you will never remember.
Now, it's time to buck the system in lil ole Santo Domingo and call her out with the police. Atta boy kicking mule. Kick those cops where it hurts.
While you're at it you can a house call from a doctor for another $200 + and doesn't leave the nurse behind (which might have been a good thing?)
I seems to me this vacay isn't going right and your OP needs to be expanded to something more than the cost of a cab ride. Believe it or not one can have a fantastic vacation in this country if.... fill in the blanks would take many pages of content to fill.

I'm glad you are enjoying the trip! It may be hard for you to believe but I'm enjoying my time a lot actually. I wasn't enjoying the aesthetics of 'the bites', but physically I feel great. I've been going to the gym every day...I wound up going to the casino a few times and winning $900 somehow on Blackjack. The date I went on didn't go well here in Santo Domingo no doubt, but that is over with, and I have a little bit of a battle scar. No biggie.
The lady in Las Terrenas was actually pretty much what she made herself out to be on the website, so I don't want to denigrate her in any way. Hard working lady, just not quite my cup of tea, if we are talking long term material. She is part of the small percentage of ladies that are legit on the site.
I don't think I mentioned here yet, but perhaps due to the pressure applied, I wound up with my expensive possession back from the night out with illegitimate lady. That was a bonus I didn't expect, I actually was prepared to let that part go. I'm guessing the phone calls she received from a couple locals I talked with convinced her that I had enough information on her to make it the better choice to walk away scot-free...for giving back what wasn't hers. I went back into the pictures together and I noticed in almost all the photos she had her hand near my mouth cupping my chin, or drawing my face into her in a sorta 'loving' way.... that may have been the way the drug was passed....still don't know.
'Kick the cops'...what gave you that impression?...I appreciate the police I see them everywhere. The parts of the city I've been in appear to be very safe for the most part. Not fond of people beggars walking up on me, or the 'massage' ladies trying to drag me into their beauty salon...but those are minor issues so far.
Don't go away thinking I'm upset over a 'terrible' vacation here. I'm actually super relaxed...and chuckling over the mishaps. I'm heading to a new location tomorrow and have a nice afternoon pool and late lunch date set up. I like this town. I intend on being a little more cautious though.
I haven't read all the the threads, but was this "lady" in Samana legit, or was it a scam, hooker, or something else?
