Hi there,

I apologize in advance if this has already been asked - I'm not sure if it's different toward the end of this month/December

My brother is flying into SDQ at 7:50pm toward the end of November. My brother-in-law lives in SD and is going to pick him up. What does the curfew situation look like? Will they need any special documents - BIL going to the airport in particular ? Assuming a generous 30 mins to process through customs, that puts them around 8:20pm leaving the airport for a 30 min drive to BIL's house.

I'm trying to figure out if it would be better for my bro to take a taxi or shuttle to a nearby hotel and get picked up in the morning. It's his first time flying overseas. I'm a bit of a worrywart...

The curfew is 9PM on weekdays now. They should be ok. However, tell your brother not to throw away his ticket in the unlikely event he gets stopped. Then he can show the cop that he just arrived and your BIL is picking him up.
Ok, thanks!!! I kept thinking "7pm" and was worried.

He has no checked bags or red flags, so I think customs would be fairly quick with the smaller flights.

Just show the boarding pass for the arrival flight..... airport runs are allowed

If that wart really starts to itch and worry, he can grab a taxi at the curb
That's foolproof..... no risk to nobody !!

and perhaps the simplest - Uber even

The police are out in force every night. It's very likely they will be stopped. Better to get a taxi as the police are very keen on multas

keep in mind if you arrive within curfew hours you might not think ahead of how you will be getting to your destination from the airport. Taxis are operating as normal but UBER won't take you.

This thread is interesting but all about airports. As my avatar suggests, I travel by boat. Does anyone have information about ports of entry? My clear in would be Amber Cove, then on to Bahia Samana.
p.s. The Bahamas care less about firearms and surpriseingly, so did Cuba.
Thanx in advance folks.

4 hrs travel time before your flight.....
that LT leg is about 1.5 hrs... less than 2

Lots of time for you

If you get your boarding pass in advance..... 7:30am arrival is good
