A question.
Was travelling from SDQ to FLL. At the security screening a Dominican woman claimed that coffee ( sealed, ground) is not allowed in carry-on. And took all 6 bags with a very happy face. Was it legit? Or just a typical ...ummm. theft ?
If it was a theft - where to report it and to complain?

It sounds like theft to me but asking those questions loudly there and then would probably have answered your question. They tried this on my Dominican husband once and he made such a scene, calling the screener out, I had to calm him down. He kept the coffee. For him, it was just one thing too many of the various airport workers, from immigration, screeners... trying to get something from him. It (trying to get $, perfume, anything) doesn't seem as bad now as under other administrations.

From my decades of involvement with this country I know they steal from us at any opportunity. In POP they steal on every trip. In SDQ - not every time. I was not shocked. I was not mad. I was prepared. I knew what to expect from them. I only wanted to know about this particular "coffee case".
Thank you God that USAID is closed! No more handreds of millions of dollars of American tax payers to these corrupted thieves! To buy new Mercedes, Lexuses, Porchshes! I know personally some persons in the "administration". They are MAD with us for this now. This "woman" stole coffee from me for $50? OK
But no more our BILLIONS from USAID. Free fiesta is over!

There is a limit to what can be carried on board in your luggage. Buy it at the Duty Free store and quit whining about a trivial matter. They were doing their job.

I’ve heard stories about drugs being mixed into ground coffee. We just came through SDQ with whole bean coffee in our carryon. No issues.

There is a limit to how much ground coffee you can take with you. Buy the whole bean and grind it fresh every day. You’ll get a better cup of coffee and you can be assured that you are not getting stuff that is swept up off the floor and mixed in with your ground coffee

Where to see the "limit"? Any link? I had only 2 bags of 1lb and 3 bags of 1/2 lb with me. She happily took ALL of them.
