For many year I have gone to Dental Cibao Spa in Santiago.
They are great and I feel very confident with them.
However the drive is very cumbersome.
So I am seeking something closer to home.
Thank you!

I have been to Lepe & Garcia, they are very good, way better than others I’ve used here.

I don't know any on the north coast but I do have an excellent dentist here in Gurabo, Santiago who does a fantastic job for a reasonable price. She's been my dentist here now for the last 8 years. PM me if you would like her contact information.

I have used Monica. I like her and she is good. But now do to all the non Spanish speaking tourists she is hard to get an appointment.

This I started using Hillbilly’s recommendation (remember Hillbilly??? I do, fondly.)

He recommends and now so do I (highly) Wendy Juma in Sosua. She uses WhatsApp for appointments.

Ever since Hillbilly remarried he's been missing in action. LOL

For a number of years I have been going to Dra. Pappaterra's office in Sosua. Routine dental as well as root canal, pin and crown.
She has a specialist come in for the root canal. Her facilities are very modern. If you hit a speed bump in spanish she'll go into english.
Never had a problem with insurance. I'm very impressed with her practice. She's located on the second floor, at the rear, of Pappaterras in Sosua.

Thank you all for your kind responses.
I am sure that all the dentist's mentioned would be excellent.
I decided to go with Dr Fredy Lepe in Puerto Plata.
So far I am very pleased with him and his team.
I wish you all Good Health and Thank You again.

HS10: I have started going to Dental Cibao Spa for the past month. They seem to be very good and well equipped, but I'm concerned about the price/cost. They quote everything in U.S dollar. A laser deep cleaning costed me $800 dollars. I need additional work and the estimate is as follows:

Gum flap operation/cutting cleaning and bone graft around one molar on upper jaw = $1200 dollars
Gum flap operation/cutting cleaning and bone graft around one molar on lower jaw = $1200 dollars
one customized implant on upper jaw molars that will allow for 2 teeth placement = $6500 dollars
2 zirconia teeth (for the implant) = $1600

My question is that are these prices normal and did you have similar charges?
Please message me if you feel that it is not appropriate to talk about their fees online. I appreciate your response and I have to start the treatment next week.

I think it's safe to say that economical dentistry in the DR is quickly disappearing.
I have a great dentist who has a room in her home as her dental office, and she's not much cheaper than these prices.

$6500 for an Implant is an actual robbery. Pay a lot less in Miami let alone here. Any dentist here that gives prices in US Dollars needs to practice in the US, not here...............And I guarantee they would not EVER give prices like this to Dominicans..........

It sounded very strange to me when they were quoting prices in U.S dollar and I asked if it is the same for Dominican clients? the answer was yes.
I know that many dentists have been discussed on this thread, but if anyone had great experience with a dentist on the north coast or Santiago please let me know. I'm desperate at this point. I'm willing to pay more for a great dentist with good facility, but these prices sounded too much for Dominican Republic

What's wrong with trying the other ones mentioned here?

I was hoping to find a well equipped and staffed dentistry because my implant is a little complicated. Most dentists listed here don't have a full time specialist onboard and the particular specialist comes from other cities as needed. Thank you all for your advice and I will try to consult the dentists mentioned here on Monday. Thanks

You may want to source someone in Santiago or SD who attended a US program where the entrance qualifications were more than just a face and a public school diploma

Friends that I knew that were getting implants were going to Santiago and paying around $1000 per tooth. That was about five years ago so I'm sure it's much higher now, but not $6500 high(?).

Even though I was very happy there for years...having left ...in retrospect...while they do very good work...I feel they are a little to aggressive in their treatment.
