Senate to ratify or choose new JCE members this year

The new Senate that begins its four-year term on 16 August 2024 will have the task of voting to choose new members or confirm the present members of the Central Electoral Board. The current members of the JCE were chosen in the Senate vote on 4 November 2020.

With the declaration of the winners of the presidential and congressional elections last May, the Central Electoral Board (JCE) and its plenary members have completed the task of organizing the 2024 presidential, legislative and municipal elections.

Overall, the perception is that the JCE rose to the challenges and were successful in the organization of the elections in 2024.
