Two newly-elected Alianza País (Country Alliance) deputies, Jose Horacio Rodríguez and Pedro Martínez, are joining an initiative by senators Eduardo Estrella (Santiago) and Antonio Tavares (Santo Domingo) to not accept the “little barrel.” or slush fund. that enables senators and deputies to buy allegiances.

The announcement was made during a press conference headed by the party’s president, Guillermo Moreno, vice president Minou Tavárez Mirabal, the elected National Representative Pedro Martínez, the party’s National District future deputy-elect José Horacio Rodríguez, and party national deputy Fidelio Despradel.
