Nice, but what you and Miguel say about good men and women is just not true. No offense, but getting advice about women and dating from a bunch of middle-aged mostly gringo expats does'nt do anyone my age any good. Life and the culture we live in has changed, influenced alot by the tigeraje of the hip-hop culture.

More and more women(and this has always been true but alot more now) have taken to dating thugs because it's cool and its' what they see not only on music videos but everywhere and regardless of the hell these guys put them through they would rather remain loyal to them than date a nice guy with a job because they are seen as nerdy and uncool( a "Herb").

Before you go on and tell me that these girls are also garbage(and I get the same responses I got the last time about "what type of girls are YOU dating?") let me give you an example. A month or so ago here in NYC a girl was murdered in her apartment when some men broke in to settle a score with her boyfriend who was selling marijuana and Lord knows what else from the apartment.

This poor girl payed the ultimate price for her association with this punk, but she was no streetgirl. She attended a prestigous private high school and graduated from Wesleyan University in Connecticut. She had friends asking her what she was doing with this guy. Well, the ghetto hustler has become a character that young men look up to in envy and young women find exciting. And we are talking about a girl that not only should have known better, I would say that because of her background her field of choice in terms of dating was actually larger than average because of the things she had going for her. She was also very pretty, in case you wanted to know.

This is what a single young man has to deal with when he is out here dating. I am telling you all this, especially you Miguel because as young, beautiful and smart as some of these girls are they prefer dating a certain type of guy. The type that is rude, uneducated, uncouth and totally useless outside of their ghetto environments.

The last date I went on in NYC is another example. I made reservations at a restaurant called Bolo down in the 20s on Park Avenue and the young lady I was with(whom I met at the college I graduated from) spent so much time on her cellphone that when the waitress came by with the menus I took one look at her and thought, "Hold up jack. I'm PAYING for this meal. What the F@#$ am I doing? Do I REALLY need to take this from a girl that should know that her behavior is inappropriate?"

Yeah, I could have lectured her on her manners but I assumed this was not a language she understood. Maybe she would have gotten off the phone if I pimp-smacked her, but that's not the way I like to treat women. So I just got up and left. No explainations, no nothing. And she did'nt deserve one, either.

At the end of the day(and I know guys like AZB will disagree with me but I already know what he's going to say-I've heard it a million times already) hanging out on the beach with a hooker in Sosua is a breath of fresh air compared to this. And if anyone has noticed the whoremongers of Sosua are getting younger and younger for exactly this reason.

When someone is dating it's because they want to get to know the person in order to see if they can take it to the next level. Nothing more. If you like the other person's behavior, they way he/she conduct her/himself, then you continue with the courtship. If you don't like something about the person, then you move on because if you let it go, only pain will come your way.

The mistake that MANY people make is that they are so desperate to "bang" whomever, that even when they see that the other person has NOTHING in common with them, they STILL continue with the courtship.

Only AFTER they are intimate is when they start to say: "darn it, what was I thinking, I have nothing in common with her/him, crap, I don't even like her/him". Why do you think the divorce rate is so high?.

I ALWAYS say that there are at least 10 women for every 1 man. Therefore, I always take my time when choosing someone to date. The times that I did not took my time, I paid. I guess you can say that I learned my lesson.

"Dating" in the US is a strange process. It is kind of like picking up a whore somewhere else and giving her money - men offer women stuff to get them interested in sex with them, paying for their dinners and taking them places. Just giving money makes more sense. If a woman is seriously interested in a man she will not need any of that to want to be with him. So, if you want to find someone real to you - don't pay for much, see what she does. If she falls out of the game - there is not much there to loose.

I was born in "1910" but still feel as if I were 43 years young, hahahaha.

Old timers, like me, always say that you NEVER get to know a person 100% even if you live with that person for 50 years. Well, that may be true but in my case, within 30 minutes, I already will make up my mind if the person that I am courting is good enough for me to ask her for another date.

My belief is that the more time you invest on a person, the better understanding you will have about how that person is. BUT:

It all depends on what type of relationship a person is looking for. If you want to settle down and are looking for a decent person, then yes, you have to invest A LOOOOOT of time on that person. But:

If a person is just looking to "put it somewhere", go ahead and "bang" whomever you want, even if she has nothing in common with you.

The only problem with the latter is that AFTER you sleep with someone that you have nothing in common, in many cases, all one thinks is: "Dammit, can she just put her clothes on and get the hell out of the house already, what in hell was I thinking, GET OUT ALREADY!". LOL.
