Hello

I want to buy online some computers parts at newegg.com and bring them to the DR, but it seems that newegg does not accept international credit cards and they do not ship internationally. The last thing is easy for me because i send my orders to a physical address in MIA,FL and transexpress redirects my packgaes to the country, but does someone have an idea of how can i order some items and how can i pay them?

Dominican Customs.
I would like some info about how much % of taxes computers parts pay here on the DR and how to avoid a bad experience with customs, because i have already have one with a Digtal Camera.

Thanks.

Yes they accept it. But when i try to register using another payment option like paypal i don't see it possible i can only see the credit card payment option but as i said before they do not accept international credit cards. I'm better going with tigerdirect.

I user http://tigerdirect.com and wire money to them. I then have them ship to a EPS address in Miami.
Wich bank do you use for the wire transfer?

Skiller...

You live here and you have friends from USA? Ask one of them to make the purchase for you using their USA credit card. Then pay them in cash. Newegg is the tops.

Customs is a tricky one. BusinessMail always handles customs for me and so far I have never been charged for an import. I think you may be able to go to a customs office and ask them directly what the tax is on computer parts...just to be sure.

Would be curious to know how it goes...on computer parts. What happened with camera???

That's a good idea, but i want to order the parts myself. I think i'll better go with tigerdirect and it's wire transfer method.

The camera costed $400 and when it arrived here they took over 50% ($200)of the total amount of the product so i don't want a bad experience like that happening again. With those $200 i would better had bought an air ticket.

I've purchased several computer parts on eBay, things I couldn't find here. I used Sosua Business Services and paid no duties on any of them. The shipping was often pretty cheap, even though their rates are quite high, simply because most computer parts are very light.

Most people selling computer parts on eBay will accept PayPal but many will require a confirmed address, so you might need a credit card statement being sent to the address for a month... you could probably do this with epassporte.com or some other virtual card.

Always be careful buying on eBay. Check peoples feedback and see that they have sold for a while (people hijack accounts occasionally). Also be sure that the billing comes from the seller and isn't spoofed by a third party. You will generally get excellent deals on eBay as compared to major online computer sellers.
