No one has yet dared to say so, but now a communicator gave many reasons why the Health Cabinet should be placed under the Minister of Public Health Daniel Rivera. Several in the health sector have been critical to decisions taken by the Vice President.

Right now, Vice President Raquel Peña is calling the shots. The Vice President is a former administrative director of the PUCMM university. She hails from the business sector.

Those with a solid background in science and medicine in particular should be the ones putting forward protocols to stop the spread of a virus not people with as background in business imo. While one cannot completely ignore business and the need for people to earn an income during this health crisis, the fact remains that a virus is a virus and does not alter its behavior based on the circumstances - it just infects anyone it can to spread itself as far and wide as possible. A virus is not self-aware and does not "think" or even react except to mutate as part of the process of natural selection.

My experience with Scientists in general (there are the exceptions of course) those whom grew up in the Academia and Government service do not demonstrate good 'Business Acumen''... but are fantastic at their occupations. To burden them with the Administrative component is not always a good thing.
Furthermore, the Minister of health has his hands full managing the Health Department.... COVID-19 is an exception to the rule, and would detract the Health Minister from essential business of the RD Health Dept.
I think it is good that the VP has taken on the challenge, keeping in mind that they are a TEAM and not just one individual.
Everyone makes mistakes when in public office, NA is a good example; and a terrible example.

RD Government is the biggest business in the country, and we need those with good Business Acumen at the helm.
Once again, only my opinion.

It isn't as if she is doing this alone without medical advice. She is an intelligent and capable administrator and is doing a good job considering the cercumstances and resources available.
