Woa, take it easy everyone. Look at the bill, it is itemized with the tax and propina already added in. Nothing tricky is in the bill. As for harping on the man's wife LOL, Felep told me he will lock her in the closet just for those that do not like her *sigh, and joking* Some of you folks need to take it easy and enjoy life.

I think most of the posts have been quite positive. A few jokes about the music but that seems fair enough. As for any personal comments about the owner or his wife, completely out of order IMHO I thought they were a nice couple, good food, good value, dodgy music (sorry Mick) LOL but I for one will be returning!

Really, they are wonderful people and trying so hard to get it right. They are open minded people and welcome all suggestions and comments whether they are positive or negative. However, the comments regarding his wife is out of line. He lives with her, nobody else has to. Enuf said on this topic.

Something a little more mellow, some variety and at a volume you can hear but don't need to shout over! Oh god! I sound like my father LOL

Afgan, you are incredibly inept at producing an intelligent dialog.

I went to Simply Red tonight with a couple of friends, and it was one of the most pleasant dining experiences I have had on the north coast.

The food was excellent and reasonably priced. I had the fillet, which was extremely well-prepared, and very tasty. Everything was presented with a professional touch, equaled only by some of the top restaurants of the world. It was a very memorable and pleasurable experience.

The service staff was friendly, professional and well-trained. The food was delivered in a timely fashion and most importantly the chocolate mouse was more than superb.

The atmosphere was mellow and comfortable, and all requested were addressed immediately.

I can not offer enough praise for this restaurant. I have to suspect that any reviews that suggested anything less were submitted with some degree of prejudice, jealousy or with some ulterior motive attached.

This is a first quality restaurant, and I will definitely return for many more fine meals in the future.

I can now say with some degree of confidence that Afgan is completely off-base with his ridiculous assertions. I don't know who he is or what axe he has to grind, but his depiction of what is clearly a very good restaurant is nothing short of out and out fabrication.

Anyone interested in a fine dining experience should just give this restaurant a try. I am positive that you will reach the same conclusion I did. Simply Red is definitely a 'thumbs-up' establishment, and is simply a cut above. You owe it to yourselves to give it a try.

Que?

Why not by spoon?

Are you trying to be funny, cute or a wise guy? I find you to be slightly on the side of the twisted or absurd with your personal attacks on a woman you do not even know. You dislike the restaurant or the guy's wife? Either way, there is no loss if you do not return. These people work very hard to try and make people such as yourself happy. You dislike the restaurant that is one thing, you dislike the man?s wife? That is another!

There are many posters on here that I agree with and those that I might not agree with. This is fine and makes for great mature debates. However, every now and then we come across an anomaly like yourself. Where is the humor in your posts? You come out with a wisecrack when we are in the middle of a serious debate regarding a restaurant? People here are mature adults, please follow suit. By the way, I eat in this restaurant just about everyday and yes, I do love the place. Perhaps you can discuss this twisted sense of humor of yours with me someday? You might even get me to laugh.

I was ‘remembering the first time’ I went to Simply Red and ‘something got me started’ on this review.
I thought the owner and his wife were ‘Stars’ and we had a great time. I would ‘go now’ for a meal but ‘money’s too tight to mention’ so I’ll ‘stay’ ‘home’. ‘Maybe someday’ I’ll go and eat there again and just relax until ‘sunrise’.
If through ‘your eyes’ I’m talking c###, ‘I won’t feel bad’ I believe we should try to support local businesses, after all ‘we’re in this together’!

Another Delicious and Very Pleasant Dinner

Once again another yummy delightful dinner in Simply Red.

A few notes:

1) If the music is to loud for your tastes (as it was for mine) ask them to lower it (as I did) and they will.

2) Do not dine to late if you are interested in their wonderful Chocolate Mousse. It is made fresh daily and they run out of it. (I speak from personal experence, no chocolate mousse for me!)

3) They do not add neither 16% nor 10% to the menu prices. It is stated so in the menu.

ENJOY

So annoying, but I can't help myself:

10% and 15% are required by law. that they include it in the listed meny prices is one thing, but they are required to break it out for you on the bill anyways, and they are still required to pay it (which means you are still required to pay it). If they are not doing so, they are not in compliance with the law and are subject to penalties.

Yes, I know, they are being 'honest' about their prices, and the other restaurants who simply state that taxes are not included in the price (as is the custom in this country) are a bunch of scam-artists and overall jerks. For the record, all Canadians are jerks and scam artists as well, as in Canada taxes are also not listed on the cost of goods and services (including restaurants)

This particular restaurant has nothing to do with this particular topic, I'm just fed up with this ridiculous argument where people are accused of duplicity for compliance with the laws and norms of the place in which they do business.

OK, OK

"LAW"... well

99.99% of all "LAWS" in this country nobody bothers even to mention seriousely (CAFTA for instance with its "first registration 16%" and "ITBIS 10%" that they swiftly invented to replace the "import tax" and to fool USA and to rip-off Dominican population)

But this particular one misteriousely mobilizes a strong group of supporters who pathetically defend it as good, honest and legit.

Why this specific "LAW" is so beautiful for some me wonders?

I Seek Truth, Not Consistency.

The above, I believe, is a quote from Mahatma Ghandi.

Another delicious dinner at Simply Red

BUT

The 'Simply Red Music" is beginning to annoy me.

Big Suggestion: Mix it up a little....(like some Simply Red along with ANYTHING ELSE).

Peace
