there's even a nice spot on the radio about "no fraud without penalty" :)
cutting off the power ain't enought, thou. i suggest cutting off hands. or maybe at least ears. or better even, tongues, that would cut compains and arguments too...

here in POP they report frauds all the time.

Every House,In Every Barrio Is "STEALING" Electricity!

Most have no "Meters",and pay a small "Flat Rate" monthly.A few hundred pesos.Meanwhile, their actual usage ranges into the thousands of pesos monthly. Some have air conditioners, all have fans,tv's,refrigerators and much, much more. The "rest of us",who actually do pay, make up the difference, with a falsely high rate.
The political parties know that "Free Electricity" in the Barrios,is the "Third Rail" of Dominican politics."Touch it and you DIE!"
Just like the Transportation Union,"Touch them and you die!"
People get the government they deserve!
The only poor Dominicans I feel for,are those living in the country side. They are not reaping the benefits that the city dwellers have learned to think of as their rights!

Exactly. That is why it'll never get fixed. It's the Politics of Free Cheese. The rub comes when there is no more cheese for politicians to give away...

Correct about the free cheeze policy while Pichardo pointed out those businesses owners arrested (not any of the thousand little thieves who will continue to be ignored for political gain) for not paying their local politician enough money continue to look the other way.

These So Called "ARRESTS" Are Just A Publicity Grab By the "EDE's"

Makes it look like they are actually cracking down on electricity thieves.
They are "arrested",but never go to trial. You just pay a "negotiated" settlement,a few thousand pesos, and go home.
Can you imagine if they went into the barrios and started cutting down all the "espagetti" that is used to steal power??
There would be "Blood In The Streets"!!!!
And,.............................the illegal connections would be back in place BEFORE the blood dried!
