Strengthening government procurement procedures

President Luis Abinader enacted Decree 36-21 that promotes standards and policies for the prevention of violations of public procurement procedures. The executive act seeks to enhance transparency and guarantee greater efficiency and effectiveness in the use of public funds. The Program for Regulatory Compliance in Public Procurement in the Dominican Republic will be developed under international ISO standards of compliance management and anti-bribery, among others.

The decree instructs the Procurement Agency (DGCP) to develop and implement the Regulatory Compliance Program in Public Procurement of goods, services and works in all institutions under the scope of application of Procurement Law 340-06 and its amendments.
