Punta Cana is getting a direct air connection from central Texas starting this November 2021. American Airlines has included the country in the new flights programmed from Austin’s International Airport (AUS) in Texas. On Thursday, 10 June 2021, the airline announced four new international destinations from Austin, including the Punta Cana connection. The new routes are to meet increased customer demand. Other international routes will connect Austin to destinations in Mexico and Costa Rica.
The Punta Cana to Austin flight will begin 2 November and will have a frequency of four times a week. The flights will depart Austin on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
