I had a great time meeting all the DR1 celebrities last night! For all you people that didn't make it. . .. . .we just sat around and talked about YOU, so ya better show up next time;-) Just kidding.

I got to meet MommC, Poppa Tony, their golfing buddies from the great white north. Own Rules, Pib, Robert, Delores, Jojocho, Cleef. . . . . . . etc etc etc. Sorry, but I am terrible with names and drank a decent amount of beer, so I'm sure I forgot a few people!

I am without a doubt the undisputed pickiest eater on DR1. I have gotten poked fun at for not even eating Dominican potatos! I ate like a pig last night! Mommc can cook! Of course, I only ate the white rice and pork, but it was great! My novia went back for seconds and had cake!

I also got to hang out at a neat little bar across the street. German guy and his Dominican wife run it. Taught my novia how to play a little pool etc. If ya stop at this bar and play pool, aim right! The table had a major slant to the left.

I missed Hillbilly, and unfortunately Timex and the Mrs couldn't make it as they had a sick child to tend to. That was a valid excuse, so we didn't talk about them;-)

It was great to put faces with the names etc.

It was fun, it was informative, it was delicious, thanks again to mommC and Poppa Tony!

And can someone pls. remind me the names of the two members of the Church of the Latter Days Golfers who were trying to convert everybody there? Great folks too when they aren't preaching

Wow! I hadn't laughed so hard in a long time. It couln't possibly be more fun. The food was EXCELLENT, our hosts fantastic, and the company unbeatable.

A big thanks to JH, without whose internet access, it wouldn't have been possible to put together! Hope you're back in time for the next one.

To HB & Jr. glad you could make it even if ya had to leave before the rest of the gang arrived! It was great to finally meet in person and now you know where we are next time you make it down this way!

Timex and Mrs......were missed. Hope you son is better soon and we're all anxious to see you the next time.

To Jan....your wit and humour were missed. We should have thought to tell you just to bring along your Mom and Aunt so they could meet some of the other "crazy" people who call the DR home!!

To the six who couldn't make it at the eleventh hour or due to other commitments - too bad! You missed a good one!! See ya' next time.

To those who didn't show ---*&$%&*##@!! Yes we did talk about you or at least laughed about ya a lot!! Hehehe jajaja! You'll never know now, will you??

Crazy Canuck and Mrs. Crazy (those Church of the Latter Day Golfers people) had a great time.....too bad they're leaving to go home soon.....and they're not on-line (some people have no time for things other than GOLF!!). However they did take a day off to help out in the kitchen! Thanks!!

To Dulce and Amber - glad you could make it!! You definitely added to the success of the evening....

To Jojocho....thanks for stopping in and we'll drink the wine you brought when we get together this week!!

To Dolores and hubby....it was great to meet you and we're glad you enjoyed the "Hecho in Juan Dolio" wine. Next batch appears to be turning into a Madeira type wine so we'll try to keep a bottle for next time we meet! Great to meet the rest of the "family" also even if only briefly......

To Rob and Cleef.....you helped keep us entertained (such stories!!) and I noticed Rob and I were the only two to eat the chicharone!! (must be that British blood line!!).

To Rafael and "Novia" and all the other Presidente guzzlers who were present there were still five grande left from the case we had on ice when everyone arrived (and that's not counting all that was brought in by the gang) so we "toasted" you at lunch today with them over leftovers!! Glad you enjoyed the food!!

To Own Rules.....we had such fun ribbing you but it was just as great to switch our attention to Amber when she arrived (and we all noticed how relieved you were ). You have to admit tho' her opening comment was one of the best of the evening!!

To Pib......the Church of the Latter Day Golfers has a lot more members in the DR1 ranks than we realized!! We'll convert you yet!!! After all look at all the "converts" who were there last night!

To those who wanted to move in........sorry but I need my guest room for guests!! Just keep in mind that "family" are welcome to drop in anytime!!!


Good company, good food, good drinks, good weather!

To those that couldn't make it, you truly missed a very special evening.

could ever imagine. What can I say? I haven't laughed that hard and as much in years.

Wow, that was some humor. There was a rumor going around that you were hired as entertainment.

Great time all, and special thanks to Momm'n'PopC, eh. I haven't heard "eh" since the "Great White North" movie.

The food was fantastic, please alert me to the next Indian fest. The curry dish left me wanting more. If you hadn't put it away I was going to grab the dish and make a mad dash for the door.

Great people as always and some funny stuff that I'll never forget. It's great to be around people that love to laugh as much as I do.

For those of you that keep missing these get togethers, I dunno what to say except a line from the night's theme song......

"GOLO! Goloespanolaaaaaaaa.............. "

MommC can cook! That was one stupendous dinner ? Caribbean ingredients + Italian know how and taste + Canadian love and care. Thanks for the great hospitality in Juan Dolio.

Those who didn?t show missed a great one, as each of the pen names revealed their identities. Great to meet you all. The humor that evening flowed in waves?

The wave that had us all cracked up (I had my longest tears-laughing bout in years!) came around 10 pm when MommC and Tony's treat for the night, Amber, dropped in. Amber was able to make it because coincidentally her sister was staying in the building next door, and her sanky cousin was close by in San Pedro de Macoris. Amber also shared with us the story of the brother she almost slept with because she didn?t know he was her brother, and about the secret love lives of her other sister?. The woman can tell some good stories. This was talk show comedy at its best! Or maybe she has been reading too long the Men are from Mars, Women from Venus section of the DR1 Message Board?

Put a bunch of strangers together joined by their desire to enjoy life in this country and there?s the DR1 crowd ready to put on a live show of Message Board wit. This one started at 7 pm and was going strong till around 2 am. Definitely, for those that have never been to one, try not to miss the next one.

Thanks a bunch for one of the best evenings I've had in a long time. I tried thinking of something to complain about and I drew a complete blank. Which just comes to show you that awesome food and group sex can't be beat!

As for the rest of the gang, simply a terrific bunch. Nazi hunters, golf deists, pornographers, dive masters, sanki handlers, ice cream makers, barefoot Mistresses, Bobbitt fans, bald transvestites, catchy show-tunes and definately the most bizarre familly tree since well, Adam and Eve.

Something for everyone and gales of laughter for all!

Jaun Dolio Rocks at MommC's

I haven't posted often lately but after attending MommC's party I need to let you all know what a GREAT party you missed.
The food was fantastic and the group of people could not have been better!
I have decided to hire MommC as my cook, Amber is now my sister, Own Rules is my new ummm ummmmm never mind what he is, let's just say there is $$$$ involved, Rafeal is my new one liner coach, Pib can teach me how to act like a lady, I am starring in Robert's next film with Cleef as the leading man and Amber as supporting actress. Delores is hired as the marketing agent for the film and her hubby will promote the sales. I am sure I missed some people here but you know who you are and how much fun you had. Take care until we meet again.
Thanks Mom and Hubby for such a great party! We are neighbors now so we need to have more of them soon.

Yes I did of course remember Amber! Problem is, I only remembered her "real" name, so rather than just calling her that "crazy blonde chick", I figured, I'd let someone else bring her up;-)

Hey Rafael.....It wasn't her brother that's the sanki.......it's her cousin!! (ya I know....it was a complicated story!!). The brother was the almost love affair that made granny faint!

Anyhow I want to be casting director for Rob's next flick! Maybe I'll hire Amber's sister and cousin.....depends on the story line that I think Pib should write!!
