If its not found here...its not official

100% agreed.
I've spoken with at least a dozen people about it here in Santiago since this thread was started and all of them said it was fake news.

Thanksgiving is fast approaching. For those here on the North Coast, I will be serving a nice Homemade Thanksgiving dinner at the Finish Line Bar in Sosua on Calle Ayuntamiento. Cost $900 RD per. Serving from 2 pm till 5 pm. Dinner includes:

Roast Turkey with Gravy
Whipped Potato
Grandma's Sausage Stuffing
Sliced Carrots
Steakhouse Creamed Spinach
Ocean Spray Cranberry Sauce

Hope to see you there!
Mike
Sitting in traffic now on my way up to Sosua. Having private dinner/ turkey with friends, we may stop by afterwards. Enjoy.

What? I laughed when I first heard this. Kinda crazy. The historical roots for Thanksgiving in the U.S. don't exist here. Makes no sense other than a laughable aping of American culture, where the main part of the holiday, food and family, is completely missing. However, it's curious that December 24 here is almost identical to Thanksgiving in the U.S. All of the above being said, I wish I could find a Thanksgiving dinner in Sto. Dom.! There was once one or more Denny's here where that MIGHT have been possible but they are long gone.
