Thanks thats good to know. I'll do a little further research in the next week or so.
Be careful with an antigen test if you have had the virus anytime before. It could show positive.

You can get an antigen test at the new IMG hospital in Bavaro for 1800 rd and have the result in 15 minutes.

I didn't have the virus before and two weeks ago I received my second Moderna jab.

Show me any AI in Punta Cana that charges the $60 per night for any room that you mentioned earlier. In fact show me one that charges less than $100 for any room in the hotel. Go ahead, dig....................
That’s because it’s always been scam book direct you get raped ,most all inclusive are making $40-$150 Travel packages charters ,plus it includes plane ride so all those $600 all inclusive last minute punta Cana high class guest
who lives at bar all day eats at trough all day and still complains it’s dump , and only paid $600 including plane.

Does being vaccinated cause people to show positive on any of the CV19 tests?
Receiving the COVID-19 vaccine will not affect the PCR or antigen test results since these tests check for active disease, not immunity. There is no virus present in the mRNA COVID-19 vaccine.

I suggest purchasing an at home test and travel with it before arriving. You need the ability for Facetime and 15 minutes. I have used it several times with no problem. It's important to remember this test is not accepted in all countries. Colombia does not accept these results.

WRONG AGAIN. Antigen test will produce the following results if you had the virus and are cured.

What is the coronavirus antibody test?

Antibodies are produced by the immune system to identify and destroy harmful foreign substances (antigens), such as bacteria and viruses.

Coronavirus antibody tests are done to detect the presence of antibodies in the blood that has been developed against coronavirus. A positive corona antibody test presumably means that a person was infected by coronavirus at some point in the past. However, a positive result does not indicate that a person is currently having coronavirus infection.

From that link you provided , I suspected you were wrong and you are wrong about test results after being vaccinated since a vaccination can produce antigens. A vaccination might produce a false positive on an Antigen test, which is the one US citizens need:

After getting a COVID-19 vaccine, will I test positive for COVID-19 on a viral test?

illustration of positive COVID-19 test results

No. Neither the recently authorized and recommended vaccines nor the other COVID-19 vaccines currently in clinical trials in the United States can cause you to test positive on viral tests, which are used to see if you have a current infection.

If your body develops an immune response—the goal of vaccination—there is a possibility you may test positive on some antibody tests. Antibody tests indicate you had a previous infection and that you may have some level of protection against the virus. Experts are currently looking at how COVID-19 vaccination may affect antibody testing results.

Can it yes does it apples and oranges on antigen ,hence why Canada doesn’t allow test it’s ok in general and cheap but flawed.

I'm going to expand your question based on real life experience with my son in law. He got covid early on because of his work with the State of NY.. He has since gotten Moderna. After he had the first shot (he is getting tested now frequently)he tested positive! The medical staff at the place he works explained why, and it is one of the false positive because of his prior covid. I don't know the latest test after his second Moderna since I have been on the road the past two weeks.
So, I guess you need to accept this is all new and a work in progress.

Indeed. Thankfully all I would need is an antigen test to fly to the BIg Apple.

But if I were vaccinated it could cause a false positive for that Antigen test and then I might need a PCR test to prove I am currently not infected.
Which was my point in pointing out your incorrect posting.

Canada is a different kind of Orange, for sure.

I'm almost certain you are correct on what could happen. You need a solid plan. Then you need to plan the second shot.

According to the latest release on Feb 18th by the CDC, a viral(PCR) test is required to enter the US(?). Anybody have a link that says antigen tests are ok?

What types of SARS-CoV-2 test are acceptable under the Order?
Passengers must be tested with a viral test that could be either an antigen test or a nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT). Available NAATs for SARS-CoV-2 include reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification (RT-LAMP), transcription-mediated amplification (TMA), nicking enzyme amplification reaction (NEAR), and helicase-dependent amplification (HDA). The test used must be authorized for use by the relevant national authority for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 in the country where the test is administered. A viral test conducted for U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) personnel, including DOD contractors, dependents, and other U.S. government employees, and tested by a DOD laboratory located in a foreign country also meets the requirements of the Order.
