We're not talking about expressions of sexuality. It's about raising a family and hoping your kids can achieve a better life then you did. That's a universal desire. And that's not achieved in a town known for sex tourism. Middle class families in sosua are no different. And there's a lot more middle class in Sosua now then 20 - 30 years ago - talk to them and you'll be enlightened.

Many Dominicans grew up and live in Sosua.
What about the ones living in Sabaneta, La Cienega, Loma de Los Chivos, La Union, Montellano, Puerto Plata?
You think life is far superior there, with great chances of employment and advancement?
For that matter you can go to just about any Barrio in the DR, including S.D. and Santiago, no great luxury life there either just for a few fortunate ones.
Ever been to any of the barrios and seen what goes on there?
Nowhere on the island is a puritanical life, including many of the corrupt "evangelicals".
Sosua just shows the results of Dominican governmental abandonment of it's people.
Other than that, Dominicans enjoy sex unapologetically (except Windy's Family in Cabarete) from young to old, not like the perverted system in the US,
Underground prostitution, sting operations chasing Johns and Prostitutes, while Politicians know how to get"it" and tax revenues from the sex industry.
Heck, they didn't yet get over Clintons BJ and sexual encounters on 9 occasions with Monica,

Dominicans and Sosua will figure out their way.
almost sounds like you are agreeing with my post. Sosua is what it is and it is not a middle class enclave. Its a beach/ex-pat/tourist/red-light spot. It will never be what Santiago or Santo Domingo is. Tech,financial, industrial or medical aint going to happen in Sosua. Golf, gambling and shopping is another area they have lost.
Seriously? There's 50,000 people in Sosua. If you can't see the middle class (or those struggling to get into it), I can't help you. But my statement is correct, there are more middle class Doms in Sosua then there were 20 - 30 years ago. And it is they that have been pushing for a different "atmosphere" in the downtown area - for quite awhile now. Those are just plain facts. You can make light of them, but they're indisputable.
Those citizens, along with certain real estate developments that are inevitable, are what will force changes on Sosua. It's going to happen.

Why did you go swimming at playa Alicia when you stayed n Charamicos when you where steps away Sosua beach one of the best beaches calm water..

That goes for a lot of the tourists that travel there too. Only difference may be that they work “real jobs” (a modern day slave wastes 70% of their lives for the enjoyment of the shareholders) but they sure do share similarities in life’s desires.
Long before 2004 and In Search Of China’s website there were whoremongers from all over Europe enjoying the young ladies of Sosua. And of what I am told by some very long time expats some of those girls were very young. So, technology and Jetblue brought in a crowd that looked different than the European mongers.Then the extremely ugly Haitian putas arrived. So now that the African Americans have Arrived in numbers the racist culture rears it’s ugly head. So for all the Anti-American folks out there nothing is going to get better. Sosua will never have the beautiful prostitutes again. No more 500 peso salidas. No more Flamingos strip club. No more La Passions. Just spandex whores and Jetblue mongers. And of course when flights resume Canadians and Europeans.
