The Ministry of Public Health has intervened hotspots in Santiago and Santo Domingo.

Catholic bishops have called for a reverting to national quarantine for at least 15 days to slow down the pace of spread.

Health Minister Rafael Sánchez Cárdenas said today that it is not true that Santiago’s clinics and hospitals are at maximum capacity with Covid-19 patients.

July 14
Santo Domingo.- Faced with the collapse of the areas designated for COVID-19 cases in clinics and the increase in infections in Santiago province in recent days, Public Health Minister Rafael Sánchez met Saturday with the health authorities to assess the situation and take action to stop the spread of the virus.
He said the epidemiological cordon will be strengthened and plans to increase the number of beds for patients with the disease.

The minister is just a little premature. Wait a few days and the beds will be full if they are not already.

Under the current situations with the government, getting another SOE will be very difficult.
I thought the DR was now under a "State of Epidemic" which enables bypassing anything procedural and allowing those in power to basically impose any laws regarding health safety they want- without Senate approval.

With so many new cases, it's inevitable that some of those will require hospitalization so it is no surprise that the available beds are filling up. This is not a disease where you go to hospital, get better and get released in just a few days. longs stays in hospital are the norm.

I wonder howe you know which hospital to go to if you need to seek treatment so you are not turned away. Is there a central agency to contact or telephone number you call to say you have covid and they either take you to where you need to go or at least tell where to go?
