Can't make a claim that stopping inflation is possible, their are many causes. Simply expanding the discussion beyond the old trope that inflation is all about the government printing more money. I find it much more plausible that financialization, monopoly, global supply chains, covid, and greed is driving this spat of inflation
I concur that inflation is not just about government printing more money but that is a major cause. Inflation existed long before the printing presses of governments existed.

Demand and cost push inflation, rising wages, and monetary devaluation etc., all contribute to inflation.

By way of the OP, limiting price increases to the chicken raisers referenced in the OP would drive the marginal players out of business affecting both supply and price.

Respectfully,

Businesses don't cause inflation. Government rapidly inflating the volume of money in circulation is the real cause. Saying businesses raising prices is the cause of inflation is a very old trope of the socialists!!!! That is a fact!!!
It's not what you know that gets you in trouble, it's what you think you know that just ain't so

Businesses raise their prices when their cost of doing business goes up. Plain and simple.
Socialism works great until you run out of other people's money and there is no such thing as a government funded.. anything. It is, always has been and forever will be paid for by the taxpayer aka those of us who are productive members of society.

There is a lot to unpack in that response.... sure businesses raise their prices when their costs go up..... but not always. I'll leave the socialism comment alone for now, i believe it is alive and well and working very well for those at the top. Finally though is the comment on the taxpayer funding government...... it doesn't work that way. We could (and do) fund the goverment without taxes. Government spending comes first, then taxation.

. Government's primary source of revenue is taxes. Taxes are collected when goods or services are traded for money.

You are not incorrect, however the government spends first, then taxes after, and typically does not tax enough to cover all spending, hence deficit spending.

1)- Inflation 100% is the HIDDEN TAX.. .its been written about by very reputable Economists

2 ) , they DO NOT TAX to cover the Spending . as you say
.. if they did that , there would be NO PROBLEM whatsoever ..

They in Fact TAX to COVER THE ( Interest) PAYMENTS ON THE MASSIVE LOANS they took out , all on the backs of Taxpayers , which makes the DEBT Exponentially Higher , and places the Burden not just on the Taxpayers but also Future Generations ..
They then Print more MONEY , to HIDE their Dirty Deeds . ergo INFLATION , the Hidden Tax in addition to the Debt we now Owe , against our Will.

But that's my point, inflation is way more than simply printing more money. The Federal Reserve has been buying tens of billions, if not hundreds of billions of dollars for a long time now (Quantatative Easing), tax cuts, the entire bailout of the financial system to the tune of trillions of dollars...... but now, now is when we see inflation taking off..... something doesn't fit.

Covid, labor issues, ridiculous supply chains, monopolies, incompetence, greed, all these things make way more sense as driving inflation than the government printing too much money...... plus, it's happening in many countries outside of US...... they ALL fired up the printing presses? We know that's not true since EU countries are bound to not deficit spending beyond a certain point.

Reading the posts here everyone seems to be missing the fact that corporate greed is the main cause of inflation this time around. Covid is such a convienant excuse to raise prices.

I can not think of a single commodity that has not cried we have to raise the price due to covid. I am still for opening the world up and let's see what happens.

Covid will be a virus that will be with us forever. It's time to move on. Either the people that have vaccines will survive or the people without vaccines will survive. At this point who gives a shit. It's time to live our lives.

Seems the trend of the past decades is capitalism for the profits but socialism for the losses .......

There is no such thing as " Corporate Greed" .. there is only Supply and Demand ..
If there are shortages in the Supply chain, you can not blame the Car Dealer for Charging FULL sticker Price or even above Sticker .
If the Demand for Restaurant Outings goes through the Roof, because people are finally SICK of this Fake Pandemic .. you can not blame Restaurants for RAISING their Prices of a MEAL , if people are willing to pay it .. Dont like, it Stay home .

Can someone please give a specific Example of " Corporate greed" ?
yes the Pharm companies are GREEDY , but aside from Forced Vaccinations .. I dont even have a problem with THEM making a TRILLION Dollars .
But those who partake in Insider Trading , should be in PRISON FOR LIFE . They broke the Law .. Even Martha Stewart went to Prison
so people like Fauci should be in Prison for life .

but What Corporate Greed are you people talking about .
Apple is probably one of the GREEDIEST Companies on the Planet , selling you a Phone which probably costs $15 to make for $900 and then FORCING you to buy another one 2 years later by forcing you to update their Operating System until your Phone cant handle it any more
.. I dont hear anyone complaining about those Scumbags .
