"Witty" one-liners add little to a new discussion. Cut it out.
Changing of the guard is a normal evolution within the confines of any national prision system. Unfortunately rather than hold an election and cast a vote it's often resolved in a different manner per inmate rules/ codes/ laws.

It's also quite common for opposing groups within the facility to air out their grievances around the holidays as many of them tend to be more sensitive with a highten sense of emotion often due to the lack of contact with family and friends on the outside during this time of the year.

i hope this sheds a little light on my one-liner.
