I was there in person on Monday May 3. They are indeed vaccinating anyone over 50 at the Punta Cana airport with a cedula.

Forgo the airport location and do it anywhere else in your area. With your passport for ID.
You just had the bad luck of getting an overzealous volunteer that day you got rejected.

I managed a vaccination location here in Santiago as a replacement for a sick buddy for a day. We took all kinds of passports at the location.

Go get your jab!

I got my first shot at the Multiuso between Sosua and the airport two weeks ago. Scheduled for second shot on May 20. Only needed my passport.
They don't look to see if you have overstayed. I know many Canadians who have overstayed who had no problem. I've heard of nobody being denied
a shot for that reason. Only people under the age limit have been denied.
I got my second shot May 20 with no hassle at the same place. Only needed my passport and the vaccination card given to me
after the first shot.

I was with a large group of Dominicans last night, most of whom had been recently vaccinated with their first shot and all of them were drinking either rum or whisky.

It got me thinking, If alcohol screws up the vaccine I do not think we will be seeing the end of this mess in this country anytime soon as there are far too many alcoholics living here who would rather die than stop drinking.

I know that you are told not to drink alcohol for 3 days here but there is no evidence that light to moderate drinking is a problem.

It would be a good idea to refrain from drinking or taking over the counter pain killers if you can for three days. But if you can't and don't overdo the consumption of either you should still be able to produce the desired immune response. It is far more important to wait out the 14 days after each injection before deliberately placing yourself into crowds or engaging in other risky behaviors (which is not recommended at anytime). The body needs that time to react to the vaccine stimulus and build the antibodies. Whatever level of protection your specific vaccine is going to provide you is not instantaneous. Protection from the virus seems more robust after receiving the 2nd dose of any of the vaccines. So from first shot to max protection is about six weeks in this country based on the dosage schedule public health is following- 1st shot, 28 days wait, 2nd shot, 14 day wait.

I hope 'vaccinated' people are given a badge or identifying mark so we know who to stay away from as they shed deadly mutant strains from their hijacked immune systems.

The stupidity won't kill them but the upcoming normal flu season probably will.

For normal people the only course of action to take is just stay away from them until they die off. Which gets us into the question of burial and disposal - what is known of the virus infecting others even after death? Should the bodies be treated as a biohazard?

They don’t tell us a lot of things. Like don’t take anything except Tylenol for 2 weeks afterwards. Ibuprofen or naproxen, etc can interfere with developing the antibodies.
FWIW My dentist told me to take Naproxin (Double dose!!) for pain after yanking out one of my molars. I asked about the vaccine and she said not to worry about it.

Me neither. A couple days ago I did hear that was the rumor on Fayboo and was being spread around the barrios though.
I got vaccinated in early March. I don‘t drink but my husband does. I saw the first such announcement on Facebook posted by thr Ministry of Health. Didn’t think it was a rumor. Similarly, on an NPR show, a Mayo Clinic expert was saying that chronic, heavy drinking supresses your immune system but that one celebratory drink after a shot wouldn’t hurt (he was replying to a question of not drinking in between shots.

Moderate drinking is unlikely to impair the immune response to the vaccine. Heavy drinking might:

“As per experts, there is no evidence of alcohol impairing the effectiveness of the vaccine.” It's just another FayBoo rumor.

Accept what you say but I was told by the doctor in Jamao to not consume any alcohol of any sort for at least 72 hours after the vaccine!
