Comparing "apples to apples", restaurants here are cheaper than in the US, especially if you have any drinks. As always, there are exceptions.

MiamiDRGuy are you posting all these receipts to make a point? You think it's expensive? Also, I have seen these receipts being posted on the FB "ex-pats in the Dominican Republic" group. This thread is about a "rip off" business, so I do not see how the receipts being posted relate to that?

Dominican businessmen acting like it's all going to end very soon so they have to grab it while they can.
Or else they all think they are located in an Airport ?

Are prices high, yes. But they are almost everywhere. But you can't call businesses a "rip off" if it was your decision to go there. The receipts that the OP is posting are on FB DR ex-pat groups as well. I am not sure what the receipt for the 2 jugo de chinola is supposed to mean? The receipt has "Pat Health Food". It is a given the price would be a bit higher than other places. Maybe MiamiDRGuy will post what he is trying to show with the receipt posts. Now the tax in the DR is a whole other topic.

Been there, done that. My favorite is Tia Maria, followed by Kahlua and Bailey's in 3rd place.
