The Dominican government, through the Ministry of Foreign Relations, rejected the wording of the US Embassy note: “Alert: Ongoing Dominican Migration Enforcement.” The note was uploaded to the US Embassy website on Saturday, 19 November 2022

The Ministry of Foreign Relations issued a statement whereby it says the country considers the note “unfounded, untimely and unfortunate.” The Ministry of Foreign Relations says that the terms of the note contradict the excellent bilateral relationship that exists between the Dominican Republic and the United States in all areas: political, economic, military, social and cooperation, whether in the areas of drug trafficking, human trafficking, arms and ammunition smuggling, corruption or the fight against impunity, among others.

This is horrible to read. I am a US citizen and I travel to the DR typically 3 to 4 times a year. I now have to rethink my visits to the DR. I'm hearing cases of dark skin African Americans being detained while on vacations in the DR. Also we are hearing cases of Hatians who have there proper paper work still being deported back tho Haiti. I think it may be time for US citizens to protest the DR government and STOP TRAVELING to the DR.

Since the DR government wants to detain and deport people based on skin color the people of the world should say I don't want to support such a country and choose to vacation elsewhere.

In some cases, authorities have not respected these individuals’ legal status in the Dominican Republic or nationality. It’s not concrete at all. It says IT MAY LEAD TO INCREASED INTERACTION…. As far as I can tell, it’s just a “heads up”.

Hearing stories and having actual confirmation/proof are two different things. Please provide links to these stories as opposed to hearsay.

Americans need to be more worried about American immigration. https://www.truthdig.com/articles/t...ns-have-been-mistakenly-detained-or-deported/ I have for actual cases of American citizens detained and can only find the three Haitian Americans accused of drug smuggling in 2021.

One is allowed
One shouldn't be.
