Relevance? Or just seeking an excuse to say some other "not helpful or positive" things today?
I'd say it's relevant as it should help you to better understand our business culture and how successful Americans negotiate to achieve the desired results...
aka Win.

America's been winning for years hence the rest of the world being so eager to piggyback on our success and in some instances, leech off our taxpayers which Trump has vowed to end starting with pausing the funds to these dirtbag NGOs.

If you were to look at my post to which EHM asked his question, you will see it had nothing to do with understanding or not understanding business culture, negotiation, etc etc. I merely stated I did not find any news items specifically mentioning the DR on this topic, and that the news indicated the freeze had been paused. That's a reason to question where I am from?

Slush Funds paused.
Audits need to be conducted.
I hope to see them cancelled.
Will someone please explain to me how American taxpayers benefit from feeding Haitians living in the Dominican Republic?

Well, if they don't want them to move north, this might help...!

I read somewhere that the new administration is considering revoking their protected status in USA. Does that mean thousands of Haitians will be given a one way flight to Haiti? And how many of those will try to come here? 😱

Trump just revoked Biden's 18 month extension EO that he signed just days before leaving office that would have further protected Venezuelans from deportation.

Going forward the plan seems to be to revoke it for other groups (Haitians etc) who were granted so-called temporary protection status.

................Only President for 10 days and he certainly is not wasting time implementing change.

Cutting aid funding might jeopardize US security. The US intelligence community relies on countries receiving aid money for information on terrorist group activity within their countries or neighbouring countries. A good will part of the aid program. US intelligence services use every tool in their toolbox to prevent terrorist groups infiltrating the US. Better to deal with them offshore instead of fighting them on US soil.

I doubt the Haitians are any sort of threat to the US other than the potential for them to roll up on US shorelines in large numbers aggravating the current US illegal immigrant problems, if or when the intervention stops.

It's chance most Americans like myself, my family, my friends along with the millions of folks (myself included) who helped put The Don back in office...
are willing to take.

All the more reason to secure the borders and start incarcerating anyone who crosses into the country illegally followed by a lifetime ban.

A heavy handed approach is the only way the fleecing of American taxpayers will come to an end.

Someone touched on it but the idea behind these NGOs and other agencies is that they work to make these second and third world countries better (education, health, and other initiatives). with the goal that less people will want to migrate to the USA as a result.

No serious country wants to make developing third world countries better. Maybe from an asset standpoint. The NGO racket is strictly designed to launder funds back to the very hands that signed off on the money in the first place. This is not a new concept. Weak, developing nations and their people are exploited to achieve these means. There is no altruistic goal set involved in sending money to these NGOs.

Pretty sure NGO funds can not ne used to fund Military.

The DR has a Navy (not Coast Guard) - and has very few assets.
Last time I read of an interdiction for rescue that involved a DR ship was when the US Coast Guard notified DR of a migrant vessel with 33 people taking on water near Macao, Dominican Republic, and the DR dispatched it's ship the Capella to assist but the Dominican ship which did not have sufficient life jackets to distribute so the US Coast guard gave out life vests to the migrants and took them all aboard the US Coast Guard cutter Dependable and returned them to DR

The DR Maritime Operations Center is located at 18.4860573,-69.9312134, in the heart of Santo Domingo -
The US Coast Guard out of Puerto Rico does most of the patrolling of the waters between DR & PR, by ship, fixed wing and rotary craft as well as tethered over-watch balloons on the West Coast of PR
They must be sleeping as much as my nighttime security guard.

Don't fool yourself thinking the DR wants to help Haitians. That's a tear-jerking bleeding heart head fake.
In reality they contribute more to the economy than they benefit.
What created immigrant backlash up north was too much.
If you take too much of anything it's bad for you.
If the immigrants that came in the last 4 years to the US came in 16 years instead they could have been integrated and not created such a cluster-fudge.

But they don't do that.
NGOs are run by friends of political parties and are used to launder money. Basically big slush funds run by people who don't give a rat's arse about reducing immigration, in fact they encourage it.

No it won't help. Not at all. Any money spent is just wasted and she could stopped.
Thinking NGO's are actually helped or are helping Haiti? Take a look at Haiti today and see how that has worked out.
Court cases will need to be fought in order to stop funding permanently.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions. American taxpayers are waking up to the fact they've been made out to be nothing more than suckers and fools by these NGOs while their own people can even get affordable healthcare with safe streets.

Not to go off-topic but when Hun Sen threatened to start auditing the western NGOs operating in Cambodia back around 2015, almost every single one of them left the country.

Trump has a lot of people working quietly behind the scenes who are analyzing and dissecting these long running NGO scams along with their money laundering operations.

I would love nothing more than to see the heads of several of these NGOs under criminal prosecution in the future. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Bottom line? The U.S. for whatever reason is at it's bursting point after 4 years of giving away pallets of money to anyone who asked for it.

Now the grownups are back. DOGE has found 1 TRILLION dollars of waste in just a few days.

I hope they keep up the good work.

Their Tax Money was actually used to BUY VOTES from Certain Demographics which are sliced and diced .. People have figured it out , finally.
Helping People was NEVER the Goal .. Staying in Power was .
And to make it hurt worse, we're borrowing money to give to other countries. Sounds extra stupid to me.
