The Specialized Prosecution Agency for the Combatting of Migrant and People Trafficking Persons (PETT) had months working on the case.
The Dominican crime prosecution authorities since March 2024 had been collecting evidence and finally decided to carry out a raid on 27 August 2024 to the suspected brothel operating at the place known as La Mansion on Calle Kiev in the Bavaro section of Punta Cana area. Those arrested are accused of sexual abuse and trafficking against women and minors.
The authorities will be charging the owners for operating a brothel in an old house mainly frequented by tourists. Some 20 Dominican, Colombian, Venezuelan and Haitian women and minors, said to be victims of the sex operation, were rescued during the raid on 27 August 2024.
