Is her parents had a life insurance policy for her, payout would be questionable because alcohol was apparently involved in her drowning. The policy would most likely be void.

That sounds like a Hollywood b movie script. If that were true how horrible are those optics? They fly into the country and raise hell (rightfully so), demand a broader investigation (rightfully so) but then take off again, now they want it stopped. All the while, disfortunate Sudiksha has no final rest.

Obviously, the parents have their reasons, one cannot judge until you have been in their situation. It may be they just want to move one, they have come to terms with the fact she is gone. Highly doubt the insurance policy scenario. It may have more to do with their culture and beliefs.

I agree. I posted if she had life insurance. Other posters brought up the life insurance issue as a possible reason for the death certificate request. I don’t think that’s the case.

The justice department is in no way obligated to adjudicate based on the emotions or religions of the various parties in any case.

I am talking about the parents not the justice dept. Looking at it from the parent's point of view, the justice side is a whole other issue.

Is Joshua the first American tourist to visit the Higüey court? Usually, the tourists that make it to there visit the basilica and such, not the court. lol

In the future he could publish a book on The DR Spring Break of ‘25. Who knows, it might become a best seller.

What if the DR Refuses to give them a DEATH CERTIFICATE ?

What will you spew then ?
thats my guess btw.. if they are smart, they will release him but hold off on the Death Certificate.

The Girls Family has an extremely High Price and very smart lawyer

He is asking the DR to put up or shut up.

YOU somehow see this as a WIN of your argument, which you have repeated no less than a Hundred Times .

By declaring her as Accidental DROWNING on the Death Cert , they are boxing themselves in..
You DO know a Death Cert requires a CAUSE of death , right ?
And I hope they do it too,
A cause of death could be unknown, no?

It matters not regarding this death certificate since the family won't get one.

The only suspect on his way home very soon and the DR will let this blow over for the sake of tourism.

Well strange as he remains under watch and they will continue retaining his passport. Who said he's free to go? He's not going anywhere
Who says? A DR judge that is who. No proof or wrong doing and no body so the judge says he must be released.

He filed a habeas corpus petition last week, a legal action that individuals can take if they believe they are being held unfairly. The court's ruling to free Riibe from detention came a day after Konanki's family formally requested local authorities to declare their daughter dead.

The LAW actually states must be released within 48 Hours .. they held him WAY longer than that ..
if they were willing to do that .. they are certainly willing to go for another 10 days .. does not matter at this Point
they went way over the 48 Hours already.

My point is he will be released in whatever amount of days from today to infinity and the case will become cold.

If they "lost " his Passport .. they certainly are showing their Intent, and wont let him Leave the Country not today, not tomorrow, probably not next week either.
but Infinity is indeed a LONG time. so you may be right there ..
very clever .

As to " cold case"
what Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) has determined that there is nothing further to investigate and all avenues have been exhausted?
Which is in fact the definition of a " Cold case"
or are you just throwing out terminology which you heard on a TV show ?

His lawyers are basically saying "If you want to play that game, we'll play that game." Lost passport? Yeah, right :)
