Is that all there really is to Punta Cana? Anyway, it looks like Cap Cana Marina is only 1/2 mile from Punta Cana. I've never looked at the actual physical boundaries before.
I've never had a desire to go down there so I can go by what the map shows.

Punta Cana is a political/municipal boundary. It includes Veron, which is a town. In La Altagracia province. The capital is Higuey. It is all a little confusing. People use Punta Cana to refer to all kinds of locations because it has a certain amount of prestige. There are actually places that have other names, but strictly speaking are still within the Punta Cana municipal boundary. Like Bavaro and Friusa. Cap Cana is also within the Punta Cana boundary, but it is a development, not a town. Originally owned by Sr Hazoury and associates, they have sold land parcels to a variety of other developers.

This gives a clue about the municipal structure and area: https://dominicantoday.com/dr/local...n-should-be-declared-municipality-says-mayor/
