At a time when media is announcing a freeze in the US funding to the UN-backed security mission mainly concentrated in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, El Salvador announced a military contingent was sent to Haiti to bolster the UN-backed mission primarily made up of 600 Kenya soldiers. The 70-soldier El Salvador contigent was sent a day after US Secretary of State visited El Salvador and met with El Salvador President Nayib Bukele who has successfully solved gang violence in El Salvador.

When visiting in Costa Rica, US Secretary of State wh acting director of USAID spoke of the waivers in place to the funding freeze.

So far, Haiti has not yet been included in the waiver similar to that which is enabling the US to continue programs for emergency food assistance and foreign military financing for Israel and Egypt. The Dominican Republic is the most impacted by the multidimensional...

Why is El Salvador sending 70 troops. Because Marco told them to?
No waiver on funding freeze to Haiti by acting director of USAID? Not a surprise.

Continuing aid to a wealthy country like Israel while stopping it to Haiti? Doesn't make much sense to me.
Israel is one of the more strategically important allies in the world to the USA.
It is a shame Israel is located where it is, but that was a major mistake made decades ago by the Brits based upon ancient history.

Haiti is a don't care,

Hopefully that explains why.

I wish the USA could go and clean up Haiti, but I realize that is a fool's errand.

In a way, Israel exist because of the USA while Haiti exist in spite of it.

No doubt the LGBTQXYZ community in Haiti must be devastated 😂
Those organizations that claim to represent them are motivated by the money they receive more than anything else (a recurring theme among NGO’s, though there are exceptions.) They even invent situations if it would help them get the funds usually coming from the USA (or used to as recently funds are being cut left, right and center.)

At least that’s what Alberto Vargas once said of the one in the DR and that’s a major reason he said they don’t represent him. They make it seem the people they claim to represent have their rights constantly violated in the DR, but Alberto said he doesn’t feel as “oppressed” as they say is the case. He goes to restaurants, stores, events, walk around all over the DR and in all type of sectors, and never had a problem at any of them due to that. This is a guy that strengthen his hair and it‘s noticeable. He even said he spends hours at a salon for his hair to be treated. Goes like that everywhere and not a problem.

Now with Haiti it probably is more prejudiced. The Caribbean in general is known for that. The only places where it isn’t as much of an issue are PR and DR.

A UNICEF press release today estimates the sexual abuse against Haitian children has risen by 1000% since 2023. Just when you think the Haitian problem couldn’t get any worse, the depth of its violence and depravity increases. Any glimmer of hope I had for Haiti is long gone.

Now there's a statistic I'll take with a grain of salt.

UNICEF doesn't have the slightest idea of how many Haitian children are being abused, and zero basis for their 1000% claim.

I'm guessing UNICEF is trying to save their funding from USAID.

JD, correct. Well there will be drastic cuts for 2025 and to date all funding has been paused for at least 90 days pending audits.

Eco, stunningly amusing post. What sources did you consider for this? BBC, AP, Reuters, Politico 🤣? Asking for a friend

Speaking of Alberto Vargas, the following day of my post or the day after that one he suffered a hemorrhagic stroke in SD. He is currently interned at a hospital after going to emergency with a strong headache. He arrived with blood pressure over 200 (interestingly when I had the stroke they measured the blood pressure above 200/180, but no veins bursted. Now I’m wondering how close that would had happened if treatment wasn’t received at the time it did?)

He’s probably in his early 40’s. Hemorrhagic is the worst type since blood spills on the brain and mortality probabilities are greater with that type. The cause was high blood pressure.

Because who receives the money in Haiti? It's a lawless hell. Maybe corrupt NGOs who kick back most of the money get the majority but it's time for NGOs to be disbanded and defunded

But at least it's not being spent on what some would describe as genocide in Haiti.

UNICEF press release announced by BBC, other mainstream media outlets. That said EHM, we know that what they are saying is true . What’s at issue here is how much of it is true. We don’t need UNICEF to affirm that life in Haiti is cheap and getting cheaper.

What on Earth is that supposed to mean? I see you're back to writing incomprehensible gibberish.
Understanding EHM’s cryptic posts often requires a mental, “Enigma“, type decoding effort. It can be done and I find excessive amounts of caffeine or dark rum often helps. 🤣
