Venezuela beat DR Saturday, definitely an upset. Dominican papers said the DR team is over confident and it was their downfall. The article I read claimed they all were trying to hit home runs, instead of base hits and doubles. ☹️

Venezuela beats DR
DR had numerous scoring chances without cashing in. 13 left on base. True they were swinging away too much. The way this tourney works is there are five teams in a bracket and the top two go on. Each team plays one with the other 4 teams. Below is our bracket. Nicaragua and Israel pretty much have no chance here. But it is between Puerto Rico, Venezuela, and the DR to fight for the two spots. So it is bad to lose the first game but if they beat Puerto Rico they should get in. Next game is Monday at 12 Noon EST against Nicaragua which is the same as our time now due to Daylight Savings time starting today in the US.....
