I think you are completely overreacting.
The technicas don?t touch your "system", they check your connections with instruments to try to find the fault.
As long as the "system" is a regular PC, I wouldn?t worry there either, but I promise you they don?t even touch your computer.

Verizon is for your connections, not your computer system.
