To keep the 300 million from old uncle creeper, the deal was they had to stay at least 5 business days and upload some videos of Haitian destitution to social media
use caution, someone may place a voodoo hex on you. I hear the only way to cancel such a curse is to place a new pair of Nike tennis shoes and Boston red sox hat at the threshold of the voodoo doctor.

The US is the mission’s main financial backer and has pledged a total of $300 million in financial, logistical, and material support. The disbursal of a large portion of those funds has been held up in the US Congress, however. On 12 April, the administration of US President Joe Biden released $60 million to support the mission and the Haitian National Police (HNP) under a legal provision known as the Presidential Drawdown Authority. On 19 June, media outlets reported that the administration would override the congressional hold and release a further $109 million.
They can't give away American taxpayer dollars fast enough.
Haiti is a failed state and has been a failed state for many years.
A few hundred police will not make a difference in the long-term
security of Haiti nor will it change the above facts.

I was told someone had some witchcraft curse on me from years ago. Some mornings I wake up believing it

I hear ya, I feel the same way sometimes. Then I realize it's just two extra dirty vodka martinis and a mamajuana from the night before.

They better go straight back to Kenya, a lot of trouble at home and they need them there.
Can’t see that happening but they may reduce the number of police they send to Haiti using the excuse they are needed at home because of the civil unrest. Ruto is not backing down and plans to sign the new increased taxes legislation into law. Kenya was a powder keg before the new legislation. Ruto just lit the match.

so there's no hope and everyone should just accept that?

look what Nayib Bukele has done for El Ssalvador; he's turned this gang infested country around in a very short time.

It doesn't seem like you know much about these sorts of things, kind of like the poster who says DR doesn't need to invest in an expensive border solition, just have magical snipers that appear out of nowhere and kill the illegals. Bukele is a very few and far between conservative leader. He did, however, at one point, offer up his teams to go into Haiti. I guess the woke UN rainmakers cried to their wives at night until they let them reject that solution. The world is perfectly content letting the US taxpayers foot the bill, especially Canada

Simple solution.
Start a private fund and let those who want to waste their time, energy, effort and hard earned money contribute.

What Bukele did in El Salvador didn't cost the US taxpayers millions of dollars.

Short of being recolonized by a country who's willing to rule over them with an iron fist, Haiti will remain a failed state.

Same here. I fired a group of witches once that all of the Dominican managers were afraid of. When they left they had a "ceremony" outside my office and told me I would have bad things happen to me for the rest of my life.
The real kicker was years later I had a girlfriend when I worked in Santiago who took me to see a very well know witch. Pretty interesting stuff. When we got to her house she was a sweet little lady sweeping the street. She went inside to get ready, and when I went in I barely recognized her. She had all kinds of artifacts in her throne, smoked a cigar, and spoke to me strangely.
She told me to hold out my hands, and the moment she grabbed my hands she almost freaked out because I had all kinds of bad spirits and vibs.
She went through a ritual with me for over an hour then sent me home with a concoction I was supposed to drink every day.
It made my then GF happy, I can tell you that.

Ah, the stuff movies are made of! My landlady once had me write someone's name on a piece of paper which she rolled up and placed in a plastic bottle of acetone and asked me to keep it in my freezer. She also used to throw old rice water in front of our door!

Sounds familiar, except for the spells. There is this weird mix of beliefs, rituals and religion. Ironically Dominicans laugh at Haitian voodoo practices while they do many similar things. We have had the paper written names in the freezer and in the shoes, certain items at the front door and ammonia thrown in front of it. The truthsayers (witches) who read your future in your emptied coffee cup (isn’t that an old one). That was a weird old lady with one eye, with a crippled person crawling on the ground…can’t make that up. Then the group of christians who come in the house to bless it and expel satan. Their screaming overruled the noise of the colmado, isn’t that the power of God… while I keep my face straight in these events it certainly is not my cup of tea. Interesting it is.

Actually, Haiti isn't a "...failed state..."... If it were it would have no standing as a state... But it does.

No doubt Haiti as a nation has failed in many things... But not in gaining statehood... Which it comprehensively attained by defeating what was then the most powerful military in the world.

Where Haiti failed is in its leadership from the very beginning not being clear about what would happen after embarrassing a colonial power... And instead of taking the low road and conducting its affairs in humility, the leadership became puffed up in itself, even building a castle for one of its leaders.

Unfortunately, oil runs down from the head to the foot, and so all levels of Haitians began to think the same way, that they were somehow entitled. This has been expressed throughout the years, and it has caused Haitians great suffering.

That's what vanity will do to you... And no people are invulnerable to it... Including Dominicans.

Haiti's problem is, and has long been a social psychological problem... People conducting themselves as influenced by the conduct of others.

But it's not all Haitians... Just those who have been in leadership positions, and those that they could influence... There are many Haitians who have kept themselves apart from taking that way, choosing to remain humble and care for themselves in a moderate way, and for the community they live within.

Haiti is at a turning point in its history... Just like America was at a turning point in its own civil war... Just like France was in its revolution... Just like Russia was in the revolution... And South Africa in the overthrowing of the Apartheid system... And I could go on... Mexico... Columbia... Venezuela... Bolivia... Ireland... Cuba... China... And they all have, in one way or another continued on.

In Germany, after WW2, the country was in utter devastation... Yet it became an international powerhouse within twenty years.

Change happens... And there is an economy that is always at work accomplishing the change that it has been established to accomplish... And Haiti is not outside of this economy.

If you choose to give your mind over to it, you can be convinced to believe all sorts of things.

And this is true all over the world.

Check this out... How many people have lost their money to banking institutions... And yet people still willingly hand over their money to banking institutions.

Perhaps that is Santeria in its most hidden form.

I once dated a young Columbian woman many years ago. She had a very good Dominican friend who had given her a ring as a gift. She came to a church meeting with me one Sunday — with her mother — and halfway through the meeting she began making guttural sounds and sliding off her chair... Really strange... So strange that the pastor stopped the meeting to deal with her. And understand, she was a high-brow Columbian family that thought they were all that and a bag of chips... So her mother was freaking out at what she was witnessing. Long story short... After speaking with her, and praying over her, the pastor began to ask her if she was wearing anything that someone had given to her. Turned out she was wearing the gifted ring from her Dominican friend... Which the pastor asked her to remove. She did and gave it to him, and immediately she began to regain some normalcy in her behavior.

Some weeks later she found out that the Dominican friend's boyfriend had shown some interest in her, and had given her a ring that had a spell cast on it. This was found out from another friend who the Dominican had spoken to — boasted — about it.

This sh*t is real folks... I've seen it many times over.

And don't fool yourself... It's in us all... We all have flesh... And the flesh wars against the spirit.

Excellent. With this in mind the UN should have no problem with the Haitians being sent back to Haiti so to help grow the nation state
in a positive way.

And they can build a social security program to pay back the US taxpayers the 300 million that was taken from their SS benefits to pay for the Grand State of Haiti to make its mark on the world again as a super power
