What they're doing to this guy is atrocious. If you looked at the girl's Instagram posts is clear she's a barrio bagre. What percentage of barrio 14 year olds are virgins in DR anyway? I'm not saying it's right but... This reminds me of the scene from Apocalypse Now when Martin says "Charging a man with murder in this place was like handing out speeding tickets in the Indy 500".

No, he knew better. He did it to himself. These players are told from the day they sign to stay away from minors (girls). Is the girl or the mother innocent in all this, no but Franco knew better.

Japan or South Korea are possibilities as well.
Japan probably not, South Korea maybe. There is also Taiwan. But Mexico is probably going to be the only opportunity he will be offered in the near future. Especially after being away from the game for this long. Not sure how these charges can or will affect his ability to get a visa for other countries. It will be interesting to see if he plays this winter in the DR.

I think Lillo did a stint in Rikers island before filming wasted talent.
It was years after.

Brancato was charged with second-degree murder, and his trial began on November 17, 2008. On December 22, 2008, a jury found him not guilty of murder but found him guilty of first-degree attempted burglary. On January 9, 2009, a judge sentenced him to 10 years in prison. On December 31, 2013, he was released on parole

He did, he just cared to ignore it. No one is doing anything to him. He knew the consequences from day one.
He was 20-21 when this was happening, I'm 100% sure all his teammates were 👉👌 14-15 year olds every day too, but he was the one who got signed and the other guys didn't so there is no reason ($$$) to go after them.

PS. When I was 15 I went into a boarding school and I was in there till I was 17, me and all my 17 year old friends were going after the new girls who were 15 when they came in, and I'm gonna end the story there hhahahah, but there isn't much difference when it come to intellect between a 17 year old and a 20 year old.

Obviously he didn't know better.

If his reported texts are accurate, he knew exactly what he was doing….that it was wrong.....and those texts will be used to try and convict him.

He is now on baseballs restricted list, meaning he will no longer be paid or accrue service time for purposes of receiving a future pension.

His return to baseball in the US or any foreign program with any mlb affiliation is not likely. Beyond that, his admittance to knowing what he was doing was wrong, even if acquitted in the DR, will likely allow US immigration to deny him a Visa.

If he stays out of jail, he might be able to play in Venezuela, but at a fraction of the contract he had with Tampa Bay.

Money, probably but you are missing the point. Franco is held to a higher standard, in other words when you sign an MLB contract your behavior changes or needs to change. As for your comments that all of his teammates were with 14–15-year-olds, well that is just reaching, trying to find an excuse for Franco's behavior, and it is highly doubtful. As Playa pointed out there are supposed texts confirming that Franco knew what he was doing, and it had severe consequences. Again, when you sign a multi-million dollar contract to play professional baseball you should know all eyes are watching you.

That part was unclear from what I recall reading before .

You're 100% correct of course but the ball clubs all hold meetings and seminars with the players advising them of this and other things. There's no way he could not have known. He just decided to risk it and he lost big time.

I was thinking, has it been proven he had his encounters with this girl after he was signed, or before? I keep thinking it was before.

For some reason I seem to think his escapades came back to haunt him after he signed.

Nothing special about him or his case. This guys usually do not go to work for NASA after their sports career ended.
