The reason for my question is that the DR courts have been known to cancel the court of public opinion. In a judicial court...No.
In the court of public opinion...the answer appears to be yes.
His sentence, if you will, has so far cost him millions.

If Arod can get a job in the media after retirement, there is still hope for Wander. Many of them actually do go work in the entertainment industry after their sports careers end 😁
You are correct. They are not only advised about it, but they are also told clearly what the consequences are. He knew, there is no doubt about it. People around him knew but did not want to jeopardize their place in Franco's "circle" so they more than likely said nothing. We all know it is very hard for something to remain a secret in the DR for too long. People talk about "well he has money; he will be ok". But I can guarantee you that a lot of his money is being used for his legal issues. He now no longer gets a check from the MLB and being that he is young I doubt he has a lot of investments at this point in his career. You're 100% correct of course but the ball clubs all hold meetings and seminars with the players advising them of this and other things. There's no way he could not have known. He just decided to risk it and he lost big time.
Start a scrap book today with all the news articles about Wander Franco and the 200million dollars and the MLB career he lost, and give it to him on his 18th birthday.I'm sponsoring one kid he's 16 and a fairly good pitcher, throws 86-87 mph and is a lefty which is supposedly a plus, he's a good-looking kid and popular with the girls, I always tell him not to send them any funny pictures or ask for them, I actually tell him not to even have a GF and to focus on school and his training, his mom tells me he's up all night talking to girls on WhatsApp, I find it impossible to stop him from going out with the girls, it's only natural for him. In 2-3 years he'll be 18-19, an adult, how can you prevent him from hopping on his bike and going to a cabana with a 16 year old, a minor? And if he gets signed to a MLB team that 16 year old can destroy his career. Crazy.
So, what is your point? Franco is not responsible because "others probably do it"? When Franco signed to play baseball, he knew very well what is expected of him. MLB over the years has become very unforgiving in matters like this. They have a strict policy on domestic violence, sexual assault, etc... There are no excuses for him except maybe stupidity. As far as your sponsored kid, well begin the teaching at home. There's men in their 50s and 60s who were smart enough to become multi-millionaires and they marry a 30 year younger girl and get taken to the cleaners, so to expect that a horny 18 year old in gonna make smarter decisions is...
Again, you are making excuses. Players sit through hours of lectures of the do's and don'ts. Untouchable? No, it seems based on some of the information out there, he knew he was not untouchable. Doesn't matter in the end who he has, coronel, politico, etc....once it comes to light there is nothing they can do about the actions the MLB will take. And if someone threw millions at me when I was 20, I would make sure I followed whatever rules there were in order not to lose that opportunity. Again, a lot of this begins at home. Regardless, it is a shame Franco did not have enough appreciation for the opportunity he was given, now it is gone. Time will tell how this all ends.Lol. Think back to when you were 20, now imagine someone threw millions of dollars at you and everywhere you went people treated you like you were a God, you'd think you were untouchable too! And I'm sure Wander had at least one coronel lambon in his grupito and one politico who were telling him ""cualquier cosa tamo aqui manin tu sabe, eto eh mi numero privado cualquier cosa tirame por ahi".

Fair enough, but even if they do, their appears to be enough evidence out there that he will be denied a visa. The US and mlb are quite aware of how the "justice" system works in the DR.The reason for my question is that the DR courts have been known to cancel the court of public opinion.
Unfortunately hours of lectures often do little to erase the cultural upbringing of many Dominicans, that you just pay the right politico/General and the problem, whatever it may be. just goes away, That mindset permeates the culture in the DR, but does not play well with mlb.Again, you are making excuses.
