Apparently, a few days ago Wayback Burgers open it’s first Dominican place at Paseo 27, the new shopping center in Santo Domingo Oeste near the entrance to Colinas del Oeste and Bravo Supermarket.

According to this, they have a plan to open a total of 8 places over the next 8 years with this one being the first. The franchisee is a Haitian graduate of Harvard University.

Wayback Burgers is based in Cheshire, Connecticut. With the DR, the fast food chain is now in 6 countries.

Never heard of them before.(?).
Me either but they have a lot of US locations in Midwest and East Coast some in California but seems they're expanding.
Always room for good burgers if they aren't over priced like Five Guys or Shake Shack

Overpriced is subjective. I don't mind paying for something that's good. The burgers at the local eateries here are not very good. I love Ground in San Isidro where I think I pay around $10 for burgers, fries and soda. It's worth it.

Try 'Rolling Steaks and Burgers'. I usually eat there when I am in Agora mall. They have one in Galeria 360 and several others around town. I think these are the best burgers you can get in a mall

aarhus are you Canadian ? If so yes your Wayback burger comes with a 25% surtax
No I am in the EU.

I actually really like burgers. If they are good quality. I remember Gringoburger in Las Terrenas was excellent. The best are those small joints.

I never heard of Wayback either. Why is there someone thinking that is a great product for the DR market. Would be interesting to hear.

I was going to say that can't be right. I lived in Colinas del Oeste for 8 years and no Paseo 27 shopping center was there.

The last time I drove by there was around a year ago.

Yet another example of how fast SD is growing.

I was just curious why it wasn't more centrally located.

I was just curious why it wasn't more centrally located.
Lots and lots of people living within walking distance, and more stores are coming.

When I lived in Colinas, there were only a couple of apartment buildings. (Blue square) Rent was very reasonable, and it was built to American standards.

No BRAVO, No Shopping center.. just land.

The owner started building more apartment buildings, and every apartment was sold before it was built.

When you do things right, there will always be buyers

I bet pedidosya is going to be really busy there.

I only became aware of them because of the new restaurant they were going to open in the DR. Apparently, they have been around for quite some time and are found in many states of the USA plus a handful of other countries.

I'm looking at a wayback location map and they are kind of 'thin' in the midwest

I've tried them in MegaCentro. You're right they're very good. I would still rate Ground slightly better but I would be happy with either one.

I wish him well......................but give him/them about 3 years. I hope he has a Dominican partner.

The DR is littered with failed fast food franchisees who did not really have a large following and name brand recognition in the US and had more money than brains.

Wayback makes an excellent burger, but as most know, that by itself is not enough to be successful in the DR or anywhere else for that matter.

Isn't it almost always Dominicans who open fast food franchises in the DR.
