Weightlifter Beatriz Pirón qualifies to her fourth Olympic Games

Mother of three boys, Dominican weightlifter Beatriz Pirón proved her class again in 49 kg category of the IWF World Cup qualifier held in Phuket, Thailand. She is now the only four-time Olympian in the Dominican Republic.

She had competed in three other Olympic Games and was ninth in the London 2012 Olympics; fourth in the Rio 2016 Olympics and eighth in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Piron is a native of San Pedro de Macorís.

The 29-year-old athlete once again demonstrated her strengths as she recovered from a shoulder operation last year.
