What bars show the UFC
I had trouble finding places that even knew about UFC when I was down there....
...you may want to try LaBase it's a sports place, with a menu themed like a U.S. Hooters...I remember it was open air, near the Caribbean and they had a few TVs. You might be able to convince them to pop it on for you if you plan on watching the entire fight card there. Great sights there too.

Good thought, but unsuccessful there in the past, its seems either baseball or futbal or nada there.
I was there for superbowl this year and it took me until halfway through the first 1/4 to have them switch to superbowl.
I duuno, pesos change minds in the DR....I've had them put NASCAR on for me at LaBase....but then, DRP$500 would get half the waitresses fighting over who served my table the rest of the day.
As an after thought, I kinda remember a place on the Malecon past Parillia de Luis headed towards the casinos....my coachero told me it was a "sports bar" but he had that "certain grin" when he said it....it might have been Eagles or Las Aguilas....I don't remember for sure.
The problem is right now is that many sports bars cannot get PPV anymore, since Niagra3 took out most of the pirated satellite signals. This will change but nobody knows when.
If they can get the signal, find a sports bar where the owner or manager will put the event on for you, you will have to give him the channel number (look online) or let him scroll through the guide. The UFC fights used to be on 400 something on DishNetwork.
But like I said, right now, nobody is getting this signal unless they pay for it, and there are not many of those systems operating right now. On top of it, they would have to pay extra to show this event, and thats unlikely.

Thats unfortunate. To each his own, I find it great entertainment as a avid fight fan of course.
Over the past 5 years this has fast become the fastest growing sport in the world by viewership numbers.
I know the DR has alot of fight fans in boxing and Tae Kwon do, but still I would think someone would be showing this somewhere, on a regular basis.
I for one will keep my eyes open in the city as well this thread.

This is great news!! but i thought from previous posts that Mi Taverna was/had moved to some other location. I used to frequent Mi Taverna in the fall as it was portrayed as a gringo hangout. I was always the only gringo or english speaker there, including staff, everytime I went.
So you are sure they are feeding the upcoming UFC100 July 11?

NO THEY DID NOT! As i pulled up at 9pm to get early seating, i experiened locked up doors with nothing inside. The neighbour simply said they are done.
Unfortunately after asking many people throughout different Piantini drinking establishments, receiving nothing more than an Uhhh! I realized the fastest growest sport in the world has yet to impres our wonderful city. Very dissapointming to miss UFC 100 milestone. Oh well.
