Blendtec I prefer.
The other day I accidentally bought a pound of coffee beans thinking it was ground coffee.
Got home and was mad at my error.
Thought hey I'll try it in the blender.
Dumped the whole pound in, hit 'Pulse' and 20 seconds later the whole pound was ground fine.
No need for a coffee grinder.
Blendtec blenders are awesome!

Starting my search toward renovating a house under contract now. As far as brand names/ quality would like to hear the opinions of members with experience with gas stove, refrigerator and micro. All to be bought in stainless and want matching brands so there is absolutely no difference in the finish of the surfaces. Having a recommendation regarding a rangehood in stainless would also be appreciated.
I have NO desire to purchase in the states and ship it to Santo Domingo. I'm over and done with that stress in my life.

TIA for your suggestions.
My wife and I were in the same dilemma as you a few months ago buy in DR or ship from the U.S. after looking at our options in Santiago and Santo Domingo we decided to ship from U.S. We had built a home in Jima Arriba last year and needed appliances so on our way to Home Depot we stumbled upon a scratch and dent store close to out home in Florida. They dealt exclusively in brand new LG appliances that were not accepted by customers due to small scratches or dents at a discount of 50% so we purchased a refrigerator, washer, stove, microwave all brand new still in factory packaging for half the price. Most of the scratches and dents are barely noticeable and on the sides which once installed will never be seen. Even after shipping we are still way ahead of what we would have paid for these appliances in the DR. I have just returned from spending the holidays in Jima and can say that all the LG appliances have worked perfectly. Just giving you food for thought. As far as rangehoods I would say EMPAVA makes a very nice one that won’t break the bank.
