Another " National Inquirer" type headline for the tread title. Since people young, old, knowledgeable and newbies look for information concerning the DR,the title suggests by innuendo that the DR has such a requirement in place now or on the drawing boards. Do we?
This tread will certainly evolve into 100 pages of discussions about other countries other than the DR.
Just saying.

Isn't the Quebecois card 'up & running" already ??
I believe Quebec is up and running
That's seems to be a problem, some province’s are getting them up and running
But Treaded wants to start a federal one for all Canada, but then the province’s will have to release my health info to feds , not to sure if I want that
Doesn't matter to me flight booked for Oct 5th pop
For 3 weeks ,I do have a card saying when ,lot number, ect when I had 2 shot of Moderna
Theyll have to let me back in Canada ...lol

Vaccine passport requirements in Quebec go into effect on Sept. 1.
There have been some hiccups but apparently they are being easily worked out.
I have successfully downloaded my business card size QR coded proof and am good to go.
I have read that, since the announcement of these upcoming requirements, vaccination rates are climbing as fast as you can say Jack Robinson.
So, if nothing else, the steps are acting as an incentive for getting the vaccine.
There is a lot to be said for the carrot and stick approach.
Approximately 78% of all eligible people (12+) have been fully vaccinated.
Most are still wary of the Delta variant and what else might be coming but, all in all...a good performance.

Was PQ the first to 'announce' the passport ?
Maybe not to implement... but they got on it early

As for vax rates going up - the 2-tiered society will do that to you

Look at the ones here complying w/ the rules in their home country... Pfizer seekers...
everywhere you read

And today there is news that everyone attending the US tennis open in NY will need to show evidence of at least one dose and I assume that means a vaccine card of some sort

Cool story, but the real question is, will you take your 3rd dose and your 4th dose when the gov't requires that you do?

If not, you might as well forget about your QR coded proof as it will be rendered useless soon.
No yearly doses, no freedom.

Here's the official announcement - and what the passport allows the holder to do

Huh, didn't know we were in Canada. Anyway .. I see the EU is pushing for a int'l. covid passport. Difficulties arise when some countries have used a vacine NOT approved in another country. Getting all to agree will be interesting and time consuming.

What happens in Canada is very relevant, at least to the north coast of the DR, where there are many Canadian Expats and snowbirds with condos, eh?

Let us see if Ontario implements a requirement of anyone flying into Canada must have a vaccination. Or would that be at the national level where that would happen for Canada?

It's relevant in that every country addresses the problem differently.
RD decides to seek 70% vax rate... others use vax passports

One way or another, they are trying to mitigate the problem

Study up on the '2 month' theory....
the Delta variant comes/goes in about 2 months
