Who is the best and the worst for you? VRBO, Booking, or Airbnb? I seem to have the most problems with Booking in the DR.
I only have direct experience with Airbnb in the DR. I have no experience with VRBO and Booking.com

10 years of staying in AirBnB's in the country and never a rowdy night to be encountered. On the other hand, our last stay at the Renaissance was a loud night to remember for all the wrong reasons.

Well we shall ignore all the articles and evidence that suggest the opposite and conclude that AirBnB has a fine future because PCMike always stays there and has never encountered any noise. All those people who went to court in all those other cities and all those councils who introduced new legislation to shut down AirBnB obviously got a bit confused.

Any particular apartment/condo/house/bedroom being rented via any company would have to go along with local noise laws. Of course in the DR, good luck with that.

All Airbnb can do is block further rentals by tenants that don't comply with the local rules, and they are reluctant to block future revenue sources.

MR_ Cities shut down Airbnb because the price of rentals became so high nobody that worked in the city could afford to live there since Airbnb was so successful in renting in those locales like Sedona. I don't think we have that issue in the DR. I know for certain Cabarete has too many Airbnbs which means the competition is good for those that want to rent.
