The inducement of maybe of having the glory and riches of being a pro baseball player to a Dominicano sometimes fogs the mind of the vulnerable prospect. Temptations abound to sidetrack the player away from a good proper path towards pro ball. Without good guidance players are at risk of injury and loss of opportunity. Yet, it seems here appropriate oversight of academy operations is missing as witnessed by the complaint against its director, Yordy Cabrera. MLB does have guidelines for foreign prospects. However, it appears the Yordy Cabrera Baseball Academy is not under the blanket of MLB. It is a shame to have lost the youth.

It would be difficult to find any professional athlete who has not done a cycle of anabolic steroids.
I agree with your statement but what I don't agree with is injecting 11 12 13 year olds 14 years old with steroids because you're selling them a dream of making it to the baseball league and the trainers who are injecting them really don't care about them. they just look at the kids as a way to make money.

You only need to tell the parents that their son might become a pro player one day and automaticallly you get their permission to cut his head off after explaining to them that because of the weight loss he can run faster. btw. the situation in the US, China or Russia with child or youth gymnasts isn't much better. Very often the parents are more enthusiastic than their kids.

This kid didn't die because of injecting the horse steroid (which is called Equipoise). He died cause it was cut with something else that was lethal. Nobody dies from steroids after a few shots unless it's dirty. It takes years of abuse and steroid overdose to have negative effects on the organs. Odds are that he bought it off a street dealer and not a legal lab in Santo Domingo. On a side note, you shouldn't be taking Equipoise without also injecting testosterone. Injecting it alone has a reverse side effect and will stop your natural testosterone production. I know many young Dominicans taking steroids and they have no idea what they are doing.

Start prosecuting these "doctors" and make an example out of them.
Unfortunately, most are not doctors. They are "entrenadors" or those that say they are a "doctor" trying to make money off these young kids by getting them signed. As it is well known once a kid hits 14 to 16 yrs old (some younger) and is not being actively pursued by an MLB team then he is considered for the most part "past his prime". There is just not a lot of control on these so called entrenadors who will do anything from changing names, birth dates, steroids, etc....hoping for a big pay day.

That would explain my lack of success in professional sports.
making any pro team is tantamount to hitting the lottery twice in the same day. To start with, one must be born a freak of nature. Then comes the training, coaching and practicing. Mix in the juice at some point.

When will it stop? To be blunt... it will stop when there are no ball players to fill the rosters of the camps.

Enforcing rules and regulations in the DR to oversee the safety of young ball players has the same bankrupt effect as those meant for road safety.

Because of the huge money involved in contracts now, 100s of millions of dollars, performance enhancing drugs are not going anywhere. The money trickles down to agents, coaches, scouts, doctors and lawyers. They even have people that fix or change their date of births. Exploitation? you better believe it. The young men would rather be doing nothing else.

You have to remember some of those "entrenadors", scouts, take 50% of the players signing bonus. Their "reason" they say is for all the training, sometimes housing, food, etc...that is paid out prior to the player signing. Those are the ones you need to be leery of, they will do whatever they can to give their kid/player a shot at signing.

Sad to say, often they’re dealing with under educated people who have little. They’re given a glimpse of a possible fairy tale future and they give carte blanche to these trainers/coaches. If they truly understood the dangers, things might be different. Hopefully the publicity surrounding the deaths will stop at least one boy from this.

stop the phamacias from selling testerone without a prescription.......like sostenon 250 one injection lasts a month and is a anabolic steroid...,..and of course the trainers will give the young man 2 a month...........
