My husband and I will be in Montreal this weekend. We are staying downtown and want to take the subway out to the Latino/Dominican area and we are wondering what stop would be the best to get off at? Also, I've checked the forums but I just want to know if Punta Cana and Copacobana are still good clubs to go to? Any other suggestions?

Salsatech, I love that place. I love when you walk up the stairs and you can hear the music as your ascending the beat and the expectation take a hold of you. Then you stop at the coat check station and hand them over your jacket, sweater, et, al get your ticket look around the bar see the dance floor and the lights the atmosphere, la musica y los bailadores! Right off Rue St. Catherine, Copa is good, never went to Punta Cana. I never met a huge amount of Dominicans in Montreal a few yes, but Cubans, Mexicans, chileans oh boy...It's too cold right now but the outdoor cafe's right before I think Desjardins are excellent. Enjoy Montreal is like a third home, can't wait to go back. A la prochaine...

I love Montreal! (my brother went to college in McGill). Unfortunately, the last time I went there was 2002. It was for a bachelor party and our group was like 20 Dominicans and me and my bro. Salsatech as mentioned was a great spot and Vladamir Guerrero (then of the Expos) was hanging out there the night we went.
