My wife.. i pay her in hugs and butterfly kisses.. When we go out once a week we get a neighbor's daughter to watch the kids and we pay her 120$ RD an hour.. I don't like leaving the kids too long because I don't trust anyone with our kids much.

We charge at the school , for infants 3200 pesos per month, 2800 pesos for nidos 0730-500 pm

I find myself doing day care for my lady's grandson. A real hoot 11 months old and starting to walk. He stumbles around with both arms extended to avoid falling over i call him el Borrachito!

not sure whether it helps, my SIL has a guarderia here in POP, just opened: Inauguran en PP Centro de Cuidados y Formaci?n para Ni?os Lucem Vita - Puerto Plata Digital
full day costs 7,000 pesos a month or so, i think it is only 5 days a week. i presume nice nursery in SD will be more expensive but also should have more places to choose from and wider range of prices.

parents of small babies need to provide their own formula. older kids get food according to the menu prepared by nutrologo. i know that SIL had to abide some regulations and obtained permits to run the place but i never inquired about details.
different schools/nurseries will have different setup but probably most will ask parents to provide formula seeing that there is so much variety on the market.

I would say most who require daycare take on a nanny, usually live in 5 or 6 days a week, free food and lodgings and RD4000 per 15 days.

"Pre Schools", some take babies still in "Pampers" some don't, and some go to 4th,6th,or even high school here in SD.
LOTS of them.
My daughters started out in a really nice one here in Arroyo Hondo.
Just do your homework before you decide where they go.
