If they married a guy that was a professional and was working a 9-5 job this person would not have been out partying everyday. They would be used to only going out on the weekends.

Who says anything about partying everyday? Even if you have a 9-5 job, a lot more time is spend on socializing and friends in the DR than in Canada (and other countries). This does include going out partying, yes, but it includes way more than that; frequent dinners, unexpected visits (ALL the time) etc. etc.

Sorry, every person has a different experience. I'm Dominican and I have family that lives in the DR and they don't get unexpected visits and they usually don't got out Mon-Thurs. They will go out to dinner, lounges, clubs, etc, on the weekends not much different from what goes on in the U.S.

But, back to the original topic. Like you said, it is difficult to get used to living in a new country away from family and friends and until the person makes new friends and gets adjusted he/she will feel bored and at times depressed.

You are doing a good job by trying to keep your husband busy and coming up with activities that you guys can do.

you got any facts to back this up ? i'm sure Canada doesnt have any top-ranked colleges or universities that rank higher than the big boys in the USA....

Well Kyle - Considering the big boys are ranked at the top how would you be ranked higher? Rankings are very subjective and there are quite a few ranking criteria and lists that don't agree with each other, but if you look at the lists Canada holds its own. Consider that Canada has 35 million people, less than the state of California. Academic Ranking of World Universities - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
2008 ranking - university of Tornto - 24th, University of British Colombia - 35th, McGill University Montreal 60th, MaMaster University Hamilton Ontario 89th in the World.

You speak so strongly against the men. Just because they held low ranking jobs doesn't mean that they're uneducated. The situation in D.R is bad in every meaning of the term, so those hotel jobs and motoconcho jobs that you just bashed so heavily would actually be considered blessing for many households, and the lack of education is due to the poverty that is what defines this tourist attraction as a third world country. So it's easy to bash a group of people from a high horse isn't it?

Lack of education is due too many things, mainly lack of motivation.

These are pro tigres, give it "X" time required for them to be in Canada. When they are able to bail out of the relationship and stay in Canada on their own, pretty sure the ones crying aren't gonna be the Chapi's

So the OP is saying Canadian women are ball-busters? I have a new reason why I can't trust women who like hockey.
