The 10th Population and Housing Census that is scheduled to be held 10 to 23 November 2022 will ask people about their race. “Do you consider yourself a person who is black, brown, mestizo, mulatto, Indian, Asian, white or any other color?,” will be asked, Diario Libre reports. The race peculiarities years back had been eliminated from Dominican cedulas.

Racial self-identification is one of the 67 questions on the census ballot that has already been released by the National Statistics Office (ONE) as part of the preparations for the population census.

For the first time, the census will have questions to help determine migration and emigration. People will be asked: “During the past five years, from November 2017 to November 2022, did any person residing in this household go to live in another country?”

Can you imagine a Haitian construction worker sitting down with a census taker and answering census questions?

There is another census at the moment.

Done by Banco Central Dominicano, questions revolve around health care.

Houses are picked randomly on the " urbanisation " plan and they come round and ask you questions.

Well, I can guarantee you that the results will be utter nonsense.
We were one of the houses picked. After seeing the "urbanisation" plan copy, I would estimate we were 1 out of 20 or 25.
My wife lied through her teeth on just about every question 🤔 .
And the guy knew 100% , as I turned up half way through the interview. And a blond gringo did NOT fit the narrative 😆😆😆.......

After he left my MIL's ( he was not admitted in our house ), I, of course, asked why.
MIL said everybody answered nonsense---- if they answered at all--- mainly because those jobs were " botellas".
SO said why take the risk of getting " extra taxes on the wealthy " slapped on to us 😑😑🤨 and how did I even know he was legit ( even though there is a flyer explaining the whole census + things to look out for to know the censor is legit, ie uniform, badge, etc..... + phone number if in doubt ).

They came to my MIL house and she answered all their questions truthfully.
