Wells Fargo transfers $ to BHD also Banrervas for $5 usd per. Only if you have a WF acct of course.
I do but when is the last time you transfered? And what did you pay to transfer. Chase was free to me.

My european--high street-- bank wants nothing to do with the DR.
I have to jump through hoops if I want them to transfer my money here ( which I don't, I use other means ).
They also warned me they would never ever accept funds originating from the DR.

When I did my initial residency they even phoned me to double check if I really wanted to transfer 100€ or so to the DR embassy.

I also have to let them know when I am in the DR to be sure my cards are not blocked ( which I don't, I use other means and cards in the DR ).
Did they tell you why.

Here is the new regulation which will make wire transfers more difficult

I see nothing there that would make wire transfer more difficult. My bank shows the cost up front and it is deducted immediately from my acct when I initiate the transfer.

I understand teatro . Can you explain what Corralito means Dominican style - I get the English word but I'm sure its meaning is different.
According to Google Translate, "Corralito" translates as "Playpen"! However, they also give a quite different definition:

"Limitación impuesta por el gobierno al acceso a los depósitos bancarios y cuentas corrientes para frenar la retirada de fondos de las entidades financieras del país."

I walked into a chase branch last October, the banker said they don’t do the transfers like Wells Fargo does. But I only spoke with one person...

Lots of frauds, according to them.

I have the same problem with my US bank. They never allow transactions in DR unless I confirm it's me for the same reasons. They randomly decline transactions if I don't shop or withdraw money in my usual places. They even blocked a transaction at a bank teller because she had misunderstood the amount, cancelled the transaction and retried the new sum, a no no from DR.

This only happens to me in DR.

This is very annoying, but I understand.

Hmmmm, 2 weeks ago I took out 5000 pesos from my bank using an ATM. I got the cash but they cancelled my card. It was also a PITA to get it reinstated.

I also take out cash using my Fidelity debit card with no issues to date.

Completely off topic, but it begs the question as why " main street " banks are so behind fintechs.....

With revolut ( the main one I use but there are many others ) I can freeze and unfreeze my card at will, I can activate/deactivate internet payments at will, same for contactless, same for ATM withdrawal.

I can also enable biometrics options, ie it asks me for my fingerprint in the app for every single transaction.

All that instantly.

So, I go shopping in the DR like once or month or less. Unfreeze my card, activate international payments and biometrics, ALL WHILE IN THE QUEUE AT CHECK OUT.

Until your cell signal goes down then you are stuck with a shopping cart full at the register and no way to pay

True, but it's 2021, cellphone signals should never go down...... but yeah, in the DR who knows.
Also, being the DR, chances are that the card processing company blacks out also--- happened to me once---- and then well, I am out of luck ( at least, me and the supermarket lol ).

You could also do all I mentioned at home before you leave for the supermarket.

Wired USD from my brokerage account in the US yesterday and received USD in my BSC account here today. No problem.
