A couple of weeks ago an 11-year old boy was killed after being hit by a vehicle while walking home from school in Ver?n. A 13-year old boy is in a serious condition, in a coma.

The local media have been warning of this danger for many months now, and have repeatedly criticised the local s?ndico Radham?s Carpio for lending the minibuses that had been designated as school transport to a local evangelical pastor, Elio Payano, for his private use. Payano has since been shamed into returning them to the municipal authorities, apparently in a state of disrepair.
