Hello everyone, just wanted to start a conversation about YouTube videos with DR content. Also, do any of them post here. I know Norberis has been mentioned on the board in the past. I like watching her and her husband Jay. They are good people. Even though I don't really need their information, I enjoy watching. Jamie and his Punta Cana stuff is good but he can get under my skin with US politics or Haitians. The travel guys like William Ramos are good. Flip Flop is good and I can keep up with my Sosua news, I lived there in the late 90s. Finger Finger will probably be deported some day. Not sure how he gets away with his stuff. And Capricornio has some interesting low brow stuff. Probably the best is Bill Lockward.

Jaime is way too American for me. I stopped watching his content. I do like Purely Walking. She's a Dominicana with perfect English and she just seems so nice and down to earth. I have followed her for about a year.
She was a little wacky when she did the Trump being good for the DR segment, otherwise she is okay.

Greg is a long time friend so I've supported him from the jump.
I've watched a few of the other "YouTubers" some are doing a much better job than others. About half a dozen of them need to be permanently removed from both YouTube y the country.

The best ones:

- Bill Lockward: he doesn't stuck in one subject. Instead he's always showcasing the novelties and pros-cons of tons of projects nationwide. He's more of a insider (because he works both public and private projects) rather than showing just the works.

- Andariego: because he's not a youtuber: his channel was originally a TV series and he's aware that sticking with one same subject is boring for audiences.

- Kiskeyalife: he has become the Nat Geo with his videos with authentic documentary style. Not boring at all and always with new content.

The rest (norberis, jamie, compai, cerise) no disrespect are just the same boring theme of real estate, sosua, north coast, how to live cheap in the barrio (in that order) and for me are of no value.

Forgot to include John at Dominican Route. Manuel has some interesting things to say. I like Rico but he is a little too much sometimes.

Dominican content grows at a much faster rate than American content (or even Cuba’s) in views and subscribers without any promotion. There have been cases of Latin Youtubers from other countries that did Dominican content and then returned to their countries only to return once again to the DR to do more Dominican content. I mention Cuba because the latest that I know is of a Cuban after many months in the DR decided to return to Cuba to live off his Youtube earnings and they basically dried up. It wasn’t long he was back in the DR with his earnings have increased.

Believe it or not, the DR turns your Youtube channel into a money machine in a relatively short amount of time.

I hear most of them say they really aren't making too much on creating content. What can someone expect to make a month with 10,000 followers, two posts a week, and decent activity on likes and subscribers?

For many is decent pay for day-to-day living in the DR (away from places like Sosúa.)

There are tons of local youtubers that explain how much they receive. This kid for example without much data, claims that receives 10,000 pesos a month

This lady on the other side, explained this when she started (3 years ago) and now she must be having some good bucks (her most popular video is almost 900k views just talking about beauty tips)

James only has 2 years living here he's still on that Caribbean High and viewing things with rose colored sunglasses I told him wait until you have more time here and then you will see how things are slowly going downhill.

he told me the schools are better in Punta Cana I said why is that he says I watched the teacher hug my kids that doesn't happen in the states when he told me that I did not respond that's when I knew he was still on this Caribbean High.

and for the record there is no way the schools are better here and there is so much more opportunities for kids in the states than here
