A grateful Zoe Saldana was moved with sentiment when accepting the Golden Globe Award for Best Female Supporting Actor In Any Motion Picture for her performance in the French film, Emilia Perez. This award was the film’s first win to be announced during the 5 January evening awards ceremony.
With tears and choked by emotion, 46-year old Saldana gave credit to the team at Emilia Perez and her fellow nominees Ariana Grande In Wicked, Felicity Jones in The Brutalist, Margarett Qualley in The Substance, Isabella Rosselini in Conclave and Selena Gomez in Emilia Perez.
Before thanking her cast and crew, Saldaña gave a shout out to her fellow nominees. “I am so grateful,” she exclaimed fighting back tears. “I know this is competition but all that I have witnessed is of us showing up for each other and it’s just so beautiful.”
