The commercial ties and friendship between music promoter Bienvenido Rodriguez (of Karen Records) and Latin American contemporary music legend Juan Luis Guerra are breaking off at a fast pace, reports El Caribe newspaper today. The newspaper says that the cooled relations have delayed the launch of Guerra?s new production, ?Para ti,? which had been scheduled for release in February. The newspaper?s sources say that Guerra has reached an agreement with Univision after Karen Records authorized the talks, given the financial difficulties faced by the CD industry in the US and in the understanding that an agreement with Univision Music Group would strengthen the international projection of the Dominican music sensation. Univision Music Group describes itself as the No. 1 Latin music company in the US with an approximate 35% market share.
